Re: New: Nord Electro 3
Well....this is really cool. Clavia continues to impress. FYI, I have been using an original Nord Electro (upgraded to a "2") as my main axe for over 5 years now. It has never failed me, and has been through countless gigs, smoke-filled bars, etc., and is still going strong. I have owned literally d...

Re: My "Customized" MicroKORG
Hmmm.....now you've got me thinking. Yes, a red knob might look cool! Thanks!Synthprophet wrote:It makes me want to make a full custom painting of my MK. It would probably be something about painting the whole plastic casing in a Clavia red colour, paint the big knob in the same red or black colour.

Re: My "Customized" MicroKORG
So it would match my Nord gear onstage, actually.JSRockit wrote:Taint bad dooley! But why not green to match the fonts?
But, now that it's got both red and green, I suppose it has sort of a Christmas theme, huh?

My "Customized" MicroKORG
Certainly not a radical customization, but I made new side panels for my MicroKORG.....I made them out of poplar, and painted them with at least 8 coats of red lacquer. Much thicker than the original thin wood side panels, too. Now it (sort of) matches my Nord Electro & Nord Lead on stage! :) http:/...

Re: My "New" Toy Is Here! =)
BTW, according to my buddy Paul at SynthTech (former Curtis CEM chip source), the CEM chips in the JX-3P (CEM3340's, 3360's, and 3372's) if pulled out and sold separately are worth more than $1,000! Good deal considering the current prices of JX-3P's, but seems like a shame to trash a classic like t...

Re: My "New" Toy Is Here! =)
Aww... man, now I want one.. I have a JX-3P with PG-200 that I am preparing to sell if anyone is interested. It has a few dead keys, but I will be fixing those in the next day or two if I can spare the time to do so....been selling a lot of gear lately and this one has been at the bottom of the pil...

Was this song on her debut album? I believe it was....and I understand that the JX3P was used on that album pretty extensively for songs like "Burning Up", etc. Not sure about the 60, though.Stab Frenzy wrote:Borderline by Madonna.

I had posted a thread several months ago on this, and the general consensus was that this was a Minimoog.synthgeek5108 wrote:bass on "West End Girl" (although that may have been a 106)

Nord Lead 3 opinions ?
Years ago, I played a Nord Lead 3 at a local Guitar Center, and recall being VERY impressed at the time. However, I have commonly heard that they "sound thin" when compared to the Nord Lead 2x. And, there must be some good reason why they were discontinued by Clavia in favor of the 2X. I have owned ...

Re: If You Could Have Just One Vintage Synth...
For me, that's easy........Minimoog. For either of your scenarios.
And yes, you can make an entire album with just a Minimoog.

A Wave 2.2 formerly owned by the late Oscar Peterson Small world, Calyx93, as I had played that very same Oscar Peterson Wave 2.2 back in 1994 or so at one of its previous owner's house in Virginia. I remember it had some sort of Oscar Peterson property tag / sticker on it. You mean the two round s...

www.synthtech.com go to the ORDER tab at the top of the page, you can also try Vintage Planet and there are others depending on what you are after. My friend Paul who owns SynthTech told me last week that he is pretty much "out of the Curtis Chip business" now, so I don't think you'll have any luck...
