Re: Songs with Casio or Yamaha keyboards?

If you can find the Team Yamaha album the entire point it was made was to be made with cheap synths. http://www.discogs.com/Various-Team-Yamaha-European-Top-Music-Compilation/release/304180 Here is a sample from it by Apparat Organ Quartet https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/30607554/Sounds/Polynesi...

Re: USB Audio Mixer Interfaces

A. Would it be better to sell a mixer I got for free that doesn't work to put money towards another or repair it?

B. Is there any features or sound quality I will lose by going from the way I record now to the new USB way?

Arrival (The 70's called..)

Here is a short little thing I worked on for a night or so. Synths included being an Alesis Andromeda, Korg DSS-1, and Meesha Rhythm Master.

Pretty simple, but some folks may enjoy it. ;)

Re: USB Audio Mixer Interfaces

H ow many tracks do you want to send to the PC in one take? sorry, did not notice it's 6-8 (stereo?). Anyway, you can probably refer to that thread . ...or [search]USB 2.0 mixer[/search] I'll check those out but you also missed my other questions. This isn't a matter of which one to buy as much as ...

USB Audio Mixer Interfaces

I have a few options here and would like some opinions. I have been thinking I want to upgrade my PC interface. Currently I am running a Yamaha MG-166CX out to a E-mu 0202 PCI card for recording. While this has served me well for many years and I enjoy it, I would like to upgrade to something where ...

Re: Minibrute, Mopho x4, LP

Well, I can set your mind at ease about the single oscillator on the MiniBrute. What is boring and irritating about single-osc synths is that they usually only have a couple of waveforms, and it makes the oscillator exceedingly boring. But what the fine folks at Arturia have done is let it be desig...

Minibrute, Mopho x4, LP

Currently I am looking around for a "new" synth. So far, these ones have been catching my ear. I keep switching around between them and not quite sure which would fit for me best.. Basically, I am looking for something to compliment what I already have, while also standing out. Budget is between $50...

Re: Is It Just Me?

[My only real fear is that of these vintage machines that continue working for the next 50 years, they will all soon end up in the hands of people who never put them in music anymore. It's one thing to play them and experience the joys of a vintage synthesizer. But everyone, certainly everyone on t...

Re: Analog, VA or..... the future?

OK, now I see your point more clearly. When speaking about more control and ability to play more parts in realtime, then maybe it's time to use organ-like controller? Pedalboard makes great difference, and when keyboards are that close to each other like organ manuals are, you can even play two par...

Crash Mania

I have this VHS that I used to watch a lot when I was a young kid. Nowadays I am starting to wonder "hmm, I wonder what instruments were used..?" I was hoping to get some help with that here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX-z7wha3Ng I know the VHS was released in 1989. Unfortunately, the composer ...

Re: Vintage Sampler Showdown

well one of the requirements here was that it has a keyboard so if i'm buying a keyboard sampler i might as well get one with analog filters i'm more interested in the character of sound rather than feature set, i want to use it as a synth with sampled waveforms basically like the nord wave, but wa...

First thing I ever played with I believe was this:

Around the age of 2.. I guess? My father had a music studio, and I remember playing around the the Vox mostly. Later on I got a small Yamaha that had a harp preset I enjoyed a lot.

Re: Sands Of Time, a Fairlight song

Great song! Could fit quite well as part of a movie soundtrack.. or just as a stand-alone song. That deep bass is great. It does have a vintage vibe, but not in an outdated bad sense.
