Anyone have information on the GEM PK4900

Hey all, I just plucked a rare GEM PK4900 off ebay. Sadly when I fired her up I found her to be DOA. This piece is so rare it seems impossible to find any information on it. I don't even really know whats wrong with it. It is totally possible that it may just need a good cleaning, or a quick re-sold...

Re: Juno 106 Voice Repair Quote

The chips usually go for around $50-60, either pulls from other 106s or repo parts. I would get all the chips replaced as they will fail sooner or later. I myself have a 106 waiting for my buddy to get me some chips hopefully at a big discount.

Re: Roland RS-202 Attack and Sustaining issues.

I should add the the sustain on the front panel is still functioning correctly. The sustain issue is happening before the control panel, although with the sustain all the way down it is still noticeable.

Roland RS-202 Attack and Sustaining issues.

Hello all, Over the past few months I have had my RS-202 loaned out to a friend and his band. The board has gotten more use from them then in the 6 or so years that I have owned it. Today I went over to the band's practice space to check out issues with the attack. There is a distinct percussive cli...

Re: Will Roland remake any TR series pieces?

Technically the MC-303 and 505 were expansions off the MC-202, The Sh-201 to the sh101,2000 etc. I wouldn't say that they would never make any more TR series, however if they did it could me more along the lines of a cross between the MC series and the SH-201. It would be welcome as the prices on th...

Re: does anyone else feel this way about the DSI MEK

Well just by the sheer nature of both machines the MEK should win hands down. It is twice the synth literally. Plus you have patch memory. I restored a Pro One a few years back and totally love it. The only reason I have not bought an Evolver (poly or Mono) is because I have a P08, and really can't ...

Re: How to NOT be overcompressed

I like to use the rule that compression is right when you can't hear the compressor. Obviously this can get confusing when sidechaining. What really helped me out was to view the waveforms of the mix downs. I do not want to have a bunch of hot dog looking files. After a few times going though I was ...

Re: Why can't anyone release a small VA with analog filters ?

It's not a "VA", but I think Waldorf already came out with the Blofield for ya. I friend of mine and I are working slowly but surely on an nice little mono synth. THe thing is, if we are going to make sure the filters are an analog circuit, it would be easier and better to run the entirety of the si...

Re: waldorf edition software thoughts

So what's up with Waldorf's website? I can't find a demo of the PPG 2.0 in it... Try Novation's website. I think it is there. The Waldorf Edition was only licensed by Waldorf, if I remember right. I think Largo is Waldorf's first solo software project. Don't beat me if I am wrong, please! It's been...

Re: Audio unit organization ?

I myself have quite a few AUs. I just love some of the free plug-ins. If I plan on not using specific plug ins go into the plug in manager in Logic and disable them. This is really not organization and could even make things more confusing. I have not seen anything that will let you create your own ...

Re: Korg DS10+ announced

I know it would be a totally different beast, but I would love to see the DS-10 making it's way in some form to the iPhone/iPod touch.

I still have not gotten a chance to play with the DS-10. I still haven't gotten around to replacing my DS. I need to though.
