AFAIK, both audio and midi interfaces are in fact available for ipads (and iphones and ipods)...

Re: Flipping gear

I think what Solderman means is that you should sell things for around the same price that you paid for them. If that is what he means then I agree with him. I've met people who have sold things for five times the price that they bought them. Personally I think that is immoral. Immoral? Oh, come on...

If it's any consolation, it's also available in white and black.

Price around 30000 yen, slightly less than a microKORG (non-XL). In case anyone would want one.

Kind of. They have mostly the same synthesis features and sound (afaik, haven't done a side-to-side comparison). The 202 has a much more advanced (and more user-unfriendly) sequencer, though.

Re: Roland SH-101 info needed

Yes, red and blue ones go for more money that grey ones. With grips, even more so.
Not sure if there's any difference between red and blue ones (value- and scarcity-wise).

Has the existence (or non-existence) of non-custom white ones even been confirmed?

Never even heard of green ones.

Re: Juno 106 Voice Repair Quote

I've been able to calibrate them reasonably well with only a voltage meter. On steps 5 and 6 in the service manual (VCF Resonance and VCA Gain), just make sure all chips have the same voltages (if you're only replacing one or two chips, you can use the others for reference). As for repairing the chi...

Re: what's the ugliest synth you can come up with?

The X50 looks ok in the black version (despite the stupid and pointless handles) I thought the handles were a great idea for a stage synth. If it had been even remotely heavy, the handles would've been great. However, i can literally lift it with one finger. So, the handles only add unnecessary wid...

Re: what's the ugliest synth you can come up with?

70's and 80's ugly (say, roland sh2000 or yamaha ys200) has a retro charm that 90's/00's ugly hasn't yet attained. Therefore, the ugliest synths are the likes of the Andromeda and the Fizmo. And the Fusion. Euuugh. The X50 looks ok in the black version (despite the stupid and pointless handles), but...

SH-101 pitch bend. Issue?

(Posted this before, but it seems it got lost in the forum crash.) Just what is the maximum pitch bend range on a Roland SH-101 supposed to be? I have two 101's, and they have completely different ranges. Also, their range upwards is not the same as their range downwards. They're still centered tho...

Re: 1.05 meter size limit for packages to the US. New?

Roland should make replacement chips and sell them cheap for their mistake. It's unfair to have to scrap 106's for parts. Someone will eventually make a youtube video. **Someone did** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU0N08WI0nc Nice. Some small points, though: It's not that difficult to desolder bro...
