if it sounds the same as MOTM-300, and i see no reason not, its gonna be a very close, if not perfect emulation of moogy VCOs. not a kit, but still, a first moog-type VCO in a small format like Frac. i wont meniton doepfer, cwejman and AS as they are far form moog character as they could possibly b...

...M-Tron, which was sampled from a mic recording of the internal speaker from a Mellotron. Where did you get that information from? My bad. It's the Mellotron samples from http://www.mellotron.com that were sampled from the internal speaker. The point I guess is that there are different qualities ...

There was a company called Middle Atlantic that sold "generic" 1 sp rack shelves with lots of pre-drilled holes back in the 90's. Not sure if that item or company still exists. I've found lots of those shelves on a swedish music store chain's website. I don't think they ship anywhere, though. I thi...

Two sets of CV/gates which alternate as you play on a single MIDI channel. Patch the pitch CVs to two VCOs and the gate CVs to two EGs.
That's so logical i don't know why i didn't think of it. Thanks. I'll be getting one of these things then.

I tried this just now with my Moog Voyager by modulating only Osc2's waveshape with a square wave LFO. The first sound has the LFO slow enough to hear the switch change between SAW and SQUARE. Then I tuned the LFO to about an octave below C1, slightly detuned. Unfortunately, I can't modulate only O...

Pro Solo doesn't support duophonic CV. The PAiA does and is the only low cost solution. You of course have to build it, but it's not that complicated. How does the duophony (?) work on the PAiA model? Highest and lowest go to separate CV out? The documentation mentions separate channels, but doesn'...

Good midi-to-cv interfaces? (that aren't too expensive)

Encore has the Expressionist that looks fantastic (but the price is not so fantastic (600 usd)). Doepfer has a small one with aftertouch/pitch/velocity support and that'll work well with my controller keyboard but what i'm really interested in is being able to somehow have duophonic support from the...

Something i just thought of

(but have no reasonable way to test it out, seeing that i don't have a modular yet) Maybe this idea is just plain old news, i dunno. Two oscillators in as perfect sync as possible. They generate different waveforms (sine and square, for example) A third oscillator (at NEARLY the same frequency as th...

Swedish prog rock (or something like that)

http://www.myspace.com/cirruswinery Edit: I just realized some of the songs can be listened to from here: http://home.britsen.se/lennholm/swindon.mp3 http://home.britsen.se/lennholm/apelsinen.mp3 http://home.britsen.se/lennholm/jimmys.mp3 We're not a very synth-heavy band. Yeah, after a bit of reading I've come to the same conclusion, ie anything manufactured before 2006 is still ok to import. Got a bit worried there, for a moment. On a practical note, though: Do customs REALLY bother to check peoples privately purchased boutique pedals and modular synth components? ...

Have you checked out other modular manufactures beside Doepfer and DotCom? Somehow DotCom never gives me any GAS but there are a lot of modular manufacturers that do, specially in the euro rack format. If you decide to go that route you could build a mean hybrid modular that would definitely catch ...

I contacted Synthesizers.com around a year ago to ask if they shipped to the UK; at the time, they didn't, due to the ROHS legisltation. That might have changed, so it's worth contacting them directly to see where you stand. As for import tax etc., I never used to get that problem, but since last s...
