Re: Happy Birthday Gary Numan
I shall be seeing him in Portsmouth UK, on Monday (12 March).
Saw him first in 1979 and many many times since, always brilliant.

Re: Bottom Ten Worst Synths of All Time
In my opinion Korg M500-SP - not really a synth, far too limited. And the keyboard felt like playing bricks Roland TB-303 - I'm sure I will get moaned at for this but hated it from day one, a b***h to program and poor sound when new, now just a b***h to program and a poor overused sound. Roland Gaia...

I love it. On paper the Gaia I bought prior to it should be better but I have never liked it.

Re: korg m500 micro preset how much
Somewhere, someone is laughing their butt off at the fact that many people think their hoax was real. Why would Korg rerelease THAT when there's a dozen other vintage synths to choose from. I think sometimes people invent reasons to buy old synths. A second hand Casio would give you far better valu...

My OSCar rarely gets powered up, never took to it. Other than that the TX81z sits in the rack but has no real use

Re: SIEL Expander 80 help
You can apparently buy schematics for the Expander 80 here
http://www.markglinsky.com/ManualManor.html
From what I can gleam a flat battery is 4c not a 2c error
Unfortunatly sold my Expander 80 a few years back

My vote for worst: http://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/micropreset.jpg
Micro-preset can't be the worst..it's been immortalized by OMD. Oddly enough, not the easiest sound to recreate.
Granted it was used by OMD, but only as they were skint and couldn't afford a proper synth
You...

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you ever owned?
Korg Micro Preset for me as well, the first synth I purchased (I didn't know much about them then). Looked to have a wide range of presets on paper but, as already stated, it was so sos limited. And to think for a bit more money I could of got an EDP WASP or an MS-10 I don't actually like my OSCar t...
