Re: Which synthesizer(s) do you regret getting or selling

heh, my turn to hypocritically bump an old thread... :geek: was chatting w/ stalfosia earlier today about having done another walk through my music room wondering what else i could part with. dug this up searching for a "regret" thread. at least this one i think's ok to bring back to life... i don'...

Re: boss dr 55

I always thought the DR-55 was a neat little machine, I remember when I first got into synths I lusted after it due to Depeche Mode's use on Speak and Spell (sigh oh to be young again.) Never got around to getting one, and I am shocked now to see how much they are selling for- used to see them for 5...

Finally took the plunge

So, I finally got around to uploading/creating a page for my band on reverb nation. Check it out if you feel so inclined. Or like Cabaret Voltaire.

Re: Little Brother CV/Gate question

Thanks for all the help, I'll give it a go and yeah worse case scenario I'll get my tech to take a look at it- I have a few boards that need some TLC anyway!

Re: Little Brother CV/Gate question

Thanks for the help guys, I am fairly certain my axxe is sending- when I hook it up to my omni 2 it triggers, so that's a good sign.. I don't hear the osc through the audio on the LB though. How would I go about checking the voltage rails? (I'm assuming I have to open the LB up) would it make a diff...

Re: Little Brother CV/Gate question

Thanks for the reply, and shame on me for my oversight. I did initially connect all three (trig, gate and cv out- axxe) to all the inputs on the little bro, but still nothing..

Little Brother CV/Gate question

Hi all, We'll get this out of the way at the beginning: I am still wet behind the ears/green/newbie etc... with actually using CV gate connections. There. I said it! I just got a little brother to use with my axxe and am humbling pulling out my hair right now: please pardon my ignorance being new to...

Re: NITZER EBB on tour

My girlfriend suprised me with tickets to see them in San Fran- I had no idea who we were going to see, and only found out when I accidentally looked over at the merch booth right before they came out. It was quite the awesome suprise, great show. However I must admit I was somewhat bummed out that ...

Re: Resist buying, save up for the big one

Unfortunately, everything tends to be attractive until you've got one, tried and got it out of your system. That is an excellent observation, and probably accounts for 90% of GAS. There is just something psychological at the root of our desires for the next synth. Plus we all remember that AMAZING ...

Re: What Synth have you gigged the most?

I used to gig religiously with my Omni 2. What a tank. Best part about it was all that flat surface on top. Which on at least one occasion (that I can remember) had the following placed on it: -Melodica -Ashtray -12 pack of beer. -606 -A Bass (?!) -About a dozen patch pages for my CS-5 and god knows...

Re: Which synthesizer(s) do you regret getting or selling

My first synth- too young and stupid/excited. Ended up getting a Roland Fantom. With a broken disk drive that the sales rep didn't tell me about. Didn't get rid of it soon enough. last year I had the following conversation in my head: "Oh well that's a decent price for a Moog Opus 3. Pretty cool I g...

Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

All of these posts pretty much break my heart when I consider the best deal I ever got was $275 for my AX-60. A buddy of mine just got a reverse key Poly800 for 25 bucks locally.

Re: My poor AX-60

thanks for the input, I'd be very okay with just getting third party sliders, the problem is I'm not too sure where to find them. I found a few sites that have sliders for ARP/Roland/Moog gear but nothing for akai.

My poor AX-60

So I've been having an ongoing issue pretty much since I got my AX-60 in 2004, I got a really good deal for it on ebay but with the typical disclaimer "a few scratches and slidercaps missing" and though it was in pretty good condition (minus the LCD that had been pushed into the board, and the missi...
