Re: Fattest kick from synth

my 2 favorite "non-drum machine" sources of kicks are the FR XS and Korg Mono/Poly. The XS is much more flexible in the context of generating kicks, but the Mono/Poly can def deliver a kick that'll knock the wind right out of you.

this I realize......... I was just wondering if anyone knows of a hardware device that will translate midi clock and start/stop to MMC and MTC. I would really love to keep one of the elektrons or the jomox as master transport.

make protools sync to something other than timecode

Does anyone know of a device that will convert plain midi clock with start/stop messages to something that protools will sync to? I'd like to make protools sync to my machinedrum and monomachine, but I'm totally lost as to what needs to happen to make protools sync to something other than MTC or Smp...

yeah the demo patterns do suck- but this is ,by no means, fault of the machine itself  I think the 888 is a fantastic machine, albeit a different monster from an 808 or 909. If I wanted an 808 or 909, I would buy one of those. They are different characters. The functionality of the different m...

More of a design flaw then a bug, but the interface needs work.... bad. Basically if you want to edit the sounds you have to exit out of pattern or song mode, then select edit. This makes live tweaks not really happening. I suppose there is a way around this to get it to work, but it is nowhere nea...

One of the best things I've ever done for myself = switching from software to hardware i'm using mpc4000 and machinedrum (MD more often than mpc) as my main sequencers The machinedrum as a sequencer (using midi-machines) is so much fun...and encourages experimentation with a ferocity I simply cannot...

hmmm So maybe it would be best to run the MD's midi into a patch bay instead of running it directly through the MPC. The FutureRetro sync seems to have cleared itself up after removing the evolver I had before it in the chain, (revo was connected to the THRU on the MEK) But the MC-202 is definitely ...

sequencer sync troubles

I'm having some trouble with synching sequencers. Here is my current chain: Machinedrum SPS-1 Mk2 (master) --> mpc4000 ---> futureretro revolution (midi out A), doepfer msy2 to roland mc-202 din sync (output b) The futureretro seems to fall just a tad behind the beat after 5 - 10 minutes of play, wh...

prophet 600 seq + arp + midi sync

Does anyone know if the prophet 600 sequencer and arp sync to incoming midi clock and stop/stop messages?

Does the sequencer quantize and loop properly as well?

thanks a bunch in advance,
