Re: AN1X Repairs? Worth It?

You could try factory reset. Hold 7,8 and 9 and power up...

Crackling noise can be caused by loose connections. Try to reseat those boards - that fixed my synth.

Re: Yamaha AN1x in 2013

AN200 does morphing, yes.

On AN200 editing is very limited. Same sound engine but you need to hook it up to a computer if want to edit all sound parameters. And it costs nearly as much as AN1x.

Re: Yamaha AN1x in 2013

are you saying that the amazing sounds are found In the space between settings? i.e 'mid morph'? Yes, and that is the way I program sounds. An1x was my first real synth and morphing being so much fun I never really learned to twiddle the knobs  Once I come up with some interesting timbres I s...

Re: Yamaha AN1x in 2013

I am an owner of 3 AN1x. So here goes: An1x is a killer synth for finding new sounds and morphing is the way to get them. No previous knowledge of rockets required... It takes time but you will find sounds you never knew even existed. Morphing between wildly different sounds gets pretty ´grainy´ bec...

Re: How many of you still have your first synth?

Still have Yamaha An1x I bought new in 1997.

Wonderful synth. Still play it every day.

Compared to An1x every synth that I've bought has been a disappointment :)

Re: MS2000 vs AN1X?

MS2000 has lots of knobs on it but they are very tiny. I was always afraid I was going to break something. Shame because the metal chassis is really sleek. Both synths have cool ways of manipulating sounds. MS step sequencer is easier to program. On AN1x you can morph between sounds which is tres co...

Re: Turning Roland D50 into a module?

:D

Well maybe I just love the idea...synth in a cardboard box

Maybe I should find the springs somewhere and then sell it. It´s just too big and clunky...
But I don´t mean to bash it in any way - I know you can squeeze great sounds out of it.

Turning Roland D50 into a module?

Hello,

I have a D50 with half of the key springs missing. Just wondering would it be hard to fit the boards inside a box?

Is this a crazy idea? Impossible?

Waldorf Microwave XT maintenance

Hi, Any XT users tried to remove the main board from the chassis? I´d like to clean up the whole thing. Just bought it and it smells like hemp or something. Anyway, the board refuses to be separated. I think itś the big red dial (yes I have removed all the screws). Is it okay to use force to remove ...

Yes but the ADACs or whatever on AN200 are not that good and the sound is kind of boring...

Re: CS6X YAMAHA WORKSTATION

Can anyone tell me does the AN-card plugged into CS6x sound anything like AN1x ? I have AN1x and compared to that AN200 (=AN-PLG card) sound is kind of a disappointment. I would have sold AN200 but the data knob is starting to act weird.
