Re: V-Synth + Octatrack redundancy
Thanks Stabby. I was thinking about getting rid of my v-synth because I never use it and had thought that I would use an OT if I got one. I kind of had a change of heart and figured I should spend some time learning it because I know it's capable and versatile, but I never really clicked with it wh...

Re: Creamware minimax review... not!
No bugs with my Minimax or Prodyssey. I guess I just got lucky! Updating the firmware is a pill though. I had my Minimax from the beginning, and updated while Creamware was still in business. The Prodyssey I just bought used. I have not tried to update it. I don't use the software at all (I used it ...

Re: How analog does the ESQ-1 sound?
I just love the original question "how analog does it sound?"
Not "does it sound good " or "can you point me to some signature sounds".
I think it sounds 43% analog, give or take 3%.
not really analog, but not really digital, kinda in between depending on how it's programmed.
Hope that helps!

I buy what I want. No other justification is needed.

Re: I just realized what I want - A true hardware Maschine
I don't think they'd disappoint the mpc crowd by making it not function on its own either, but I'm pointing out the way they've changed "Music Production Center" to be "Music Production Controller" and how there's nothing in the product features that shows memory or hard drive size. If they gave it...

Re: I just realized what I want - A true hardware Maschine
Okay, so I've given it some more thought, and
I think I'll just stick with Maschine and Kontakt and sequence them from my Cirklon.
I wanted to get the computer out of my music, but
I just couldn't pull the trigger on the MPC or the Roland MV .
Thanks for the chat. It was helpful.

I bought a Jomox Airbase 99 from user joshuag.
The transaction was smooth and easy, and the unit was in perfect condition.

I did just get a Jomox Airbase 99, though. <wide grin>

Re: I just realized what I want - A true hardware Maschine
Why not just dedicate a mac mini (with SSD?) and a RME babyface to a Maschine? I'm sure you could set it up so Maschine standalone loaded on startup and it wouldn't even be hard to make a custom case. If all you're doing is playing back samples it shouldn't have any of the problems associated with ...
