Re: Roland JP8000 as a MIDI controller. A waste?

WELL this topic was started with a person who had a JP8000 already. asking if it was a good MIDI controller and if it should be kept as such. Then he sold it on eBay. I still have my JP8000 and here's the thing. This synth was introduced as a flagship synth, utilizing modeling but still with tons of...

Re: The gear I've had during the years...

I'm not going to mention the guitar or drum stuff because it would be ridiculous, and excessive. Off the top of my head just the synths: Roland Juno 106's x 5 Synth plus 60 Jupiter 6 MC-202 JP-8000 Juno 1 Juno 2 x2 Korg Triton Trinity Prophecy Moog Minimoog x 3 Micromoog x 2 Rogue concertmate monosy...

Re: Roland JP8000 as a MIDI controller. A waste?

Re: J-Wire contact cleaning

I read about this mod, it apparently improves bottom end on the Micro or Multi so they sound better as a bass synth.. a la Mini.. Do you have a link to a good step-by-step on this mod? Much appreciated. BTW on the Micro I opened it up and sprayed all the pots out and got rid of all the dust and the ...

Re: Roland JP8000 as a MIDI controller. A waste?

I apologize for MY getting on this topic even LATER than you did, infrared72.. But I was thinking about selling my Roland JP-8000 Unless I could think of a good use for it as a MIDI controller. I only have some archaic hardware analog synths that are non-midi, a Rhodes piano, but I am getting into A...

Re: J-Wire contact cleaning

I have heard of the buss bars being polished with chrome polish. I was wondering if anyone goes through a certain "procedure" whereby a recently-purchased Micromoog (or other similar older analog) is cleaned and spruced up? For instance, do you open it up and spray all the contacts, and swab the j-w...
