Re: Should I stay or should I go?! :-)

How much for the Morpheus? Just curious... I'm surprised you paid that much but maybe the demand has risen lately? Only you know how much you use the Morpheus. There is no software, hardware, or even proteus that does for those wave tables exactly what it does to my knowledge. Most of the wave-tabl...

Re: NAMM 2017

You're about to upset me with that stupid link to gearslutz that you DIDN'T READ YOURSELF. I did....all...of....it..... pages 1- 55 are speculation about a synth that NONE of them have heard or used. Same thing here on VSE all the time, nothing new really. Uninformed speculation that's fun to do an...

Re: NAMM 2017

i am suspecting that there are some flaws or something is going on, becouse it is quite inefficient to sell right after couple month brand new synthesizer with such price. I would suspect the "flaws" were discussed in this thread: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-electro...

Re: Seer Systems Reality

I don't know about never, but you could be right. It remains to be seen. If enough people buy hardware boxes, then we should be able to attract capital for a modern VST/AU version. Thats right! Never say never! I don't remember it generating any really unique sounds, but it held it's ground compare...

Re: Seer Systems Reality

[quote="popfuture" It won't work on Windows 7, I'm afraid. In fact, it won't run on XP, or even 2000. You need Win9x (95/98/Me). [/quote] After my post I googled Reality and read the sad story of why it died and the legalities of why it will never be revived even if it did posses something special. ...

Re: Seer Systems Reality

Hello, synthesizer fans. Good news. Seer Systems Reality is back from the dead! As PCs of Reality's vintage become increasingly rare, the problem over the years has been finding an obtainable PC that can actually run this softsynth without experiencing some sort of audio degradation, such as clicks...

Re: Synthesizers and their (true) sound

Personally, I think the Yamaha GX-1 produces some of the most beautiful lush pads and very unique sounds I have ever heard. Other than spring reverb, it uses...zero effects. On another note, I was thinking if you completely removed effects from NI's tens of thousands of presets for their past and cu...

Re: On the importance of using "hot" gear

I agree with most things said above. Honest! But for a slightly different perspective, and something perhaps only 10-12 owners use in the world use, listen to the Yamaha GX-1. This guy is re-building Benny Anderssons GX-1. https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-electronic-music...

Re: Synths as tools vs as "cult objects"

Maybe, could it be that people who do create music in an intense, rapid and sustained way do NOT care as much about the look or cosmetics of their gear ? Which would be interesting as often I read here and elsewhere about people complaining about gear blemishes, manufacturing imperfections, the lam...

MidiQuest11? And MidiQuest or MidiQuest Pro?

I guess I have been incredibly lucky over the past many years using it with my 14 hardware synths.

Re: Soundtower Editors

soundtower makes great software for your hardware synths!!! If by great you mean basic functions that don't work....then sure....just great. It's probably good to differentiate between soundtower editors and their VST controllers. https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-e...

Re: The Official Oberheim OB-12 Thread

Select a patch with a fast attack. Put it in unison and play a chord. It chokes. I selected many factory patches with fast attacks, put them in unison, and played 6-7 notes at a time...no chocking at all. I have never noticed any chocking with the OB-12. I also selected many factory patches and pre...
