That's MSRP. Based on what Moogs retail for vs MSRP, it'll probably be more like what, $1k? Not a huuge difference, but still..ryryoftokyo wrote:$1,100 USD? No thanks. I'll go buy an Arturia Minibrute.

Re: Startup-tips to an old man...
See if you can find a Tascam US-122 or 144 interface, it's both a MIDI and Audio interface, and it's pretty inexpensive. The Mk2 models are newer, but I don't think there's too much difference.

Re: Cheap Synths With A Lot of Knobs/Sliders/Switches
If you can find anything that's compatible with the KiwiTechnics Patch Editor on the cheap, that's another option (though used VAs will get you knobs/sliders for cheaper, similar sounds to the MicroKorg though.. Novation has a lot of cool ones)

Re: Led Zep - In the Light
Aside from the GX-1 on ITtOD, it seems like the VCS3 was the synth on most Zeppelin tunes, if this page is accurate: http://www.reocities.com/jpjkeys/emsvcs3.html
The Crunge and Four Sticks certainly have that weird, buzzy sound, don't they?

Funky mini-album ft. Model D, 106, DX7, Virus A, TeeBee etc

Re: Studio monitors for p.a. ?
I've done it with cheapie fostex's (plus a roland keyboard amp for a bit of extra beef) and seen it done with.. either genelecs or dynaudios it'll be a little weird since studio monitors are super direction based - might be based to elevate them above crowd level. either way make sure they're out of...

Re: MiniBrute vs CS-10/15
So it seems like the CS-15 and MB are both really cool synths at a nice price point.. going back to my original post (especially now that more people have played with the MB), let's say I have the good fortune of having a Model D to take care of - between the CS-15 and the MB, V/Hz vs Oct aside, do ...

Re: SH-201 vs Mopho Keyboard
Out of your choices.. SH-201 = polyphonic VA, good interface to learn synthesis, but I'm not a fan of how it sounds Mopho keys = monophonic analog, sounds quite nice and has a pretty good knobby interface as well, but you're only going to get one note at a time if that's important to you Alpha Juno ...

Re: Volume of Vocals in a mix
I've found that when searching for where to put a vocal, it's actually really good to check on a pair of small, ratty speakers like these eco-speakers you can usually find at Radio Shack or Five Below for like $5: http://rarebirdfinds.typepad.com/rare_bird_finds/images/2008/05/18/eco_speaker.jpg A r...

Re: Heres what i need ( Mono lancet )
I think the most important thing is that the Mono Lancet is more of a classic sounding mono, whereas the Minibrute seems to have a very unique character (not that either can't get into the other's territory, but still) - decide which appeals to you more! They both seem to be great synths.

Re: Heres what i need ( Mono lancet )
do it, get the expander (it gives you access to the pulse widths of both oscillators), something like a tiptop happy ending kit, and a STG soundlabs .com module (modeled after rolands sub-osc circuit from the 80s if I'm not mistaken) something like an mfb dual lfo, the forthcoming intellijel quad fu...
