Re: What got you into synths?

Ok, if the wind synthesizers counts it was Michael Brecker and Steps Ahead "Live in Tokyo". Being (or use to be) a sax player I was stunned about the new endless sonic possibilities and power of the synthesizers. Also Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Zawinul and definitely Nyle Steiner, the great invent...

Re: Gear Trading Thread

I have a Korg M500-SP that never fixed. The synthe presets 1 & 2 are not producing any sound - that's how I bought it. All the other positions are working. Besides that the synth is in extremely mint condition. I can trade it for pretty much anything. I am in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Happy New Year,

Re: What are you buying yourself for Christmas ?

I've got Boss RC-50 loopstation and a bariton saxophone to go along with my 2 ewi's and the tenor, latest OS chips for my EX5. Also I am getting a new tabla from India (very neat custom s**t). Hope to find some small cash - I'm dying for the Steiner Parker Master touch unit listed in "for sale" sect...

Re: Midi patch bay = combined synth sounds

I am using Motu Micro Express (the old parallel version) to control my synths with EWI. I found it very important for my life performance. The Micro Express can re-channelize and merge MIDI! So via DMC Ground Control I can and access any synth and patch in my rig on the fly on different MIDI channel...

Re: How to save patches on Waldorf XT?!

Once you press shift+ store for the first time make sure that after the program name the e is displayed, not the c (you can switch between them at this point while holding shift and pressing the compare button. Once e is displayed press the shift button first and while holding it press the store but...

Re: Too many synths - would like MIDI setup opinions

Howdy. I've done a lot with MIDI before so I'm not a newbie there, but I just could not get the whole setup to work the way I thought it should (by setting each device to a different MIDI channel, turning off the local echo on the N5 and cycling through the MIDI channels on the N5) Make sure your MI...

Re: Yamaha TX81z Questions?

Hey, I might chime in a bit late but I use tx81z with my ewi. It is responding well to CC2 if you know how to program it. You can buy the soundbank for it here: http://www.patchmanmusic.com/yamahaTX81Z.html Matt is the best programmer for wind/breath controllers along Judd Miller, Sal Galina etc. Go...

Re: First Synth for an Industrial Musician

+1 for Waldorf synth. The Waldorf Pulse is really inexpensive analog synth but you can look into the softsynths as well (IMO for this kind of stuff Reason 5 could come handy)
