Re: Sequencer Free-ware

Cubase LE doesn't support external instruments. (You can still do it but it will suck)

Re: Synth to Preamp (saffire 56)

You cant, the liquid pres are only for microphones.

from the manual: "Click the button to switch the Input signal source to Mic (rear panel XLR) or Line (rear panel jack) input.
Note that Line level signals are NOT routed through the Liquid Pre-amp DSP circuit."

If you are a total noob, you picked the wrong synth.
Editing is infinetly easier with SounDiver but getting a copy isn't entirely legal if you are using a PC..

You'll also have to dismantle the whole thing, not the funnest synth to replace a battery.

Yamaha RY-30 current price (europe / scandinavia)

This has become a sort of Holy Grail for me, what would be a reasonable price for one? Prepal has it at 130$, I'm quessing something like <150€ or am I completely off?

Re: Behringer BCR2000 or Encore Electronics' Knobby?

I have BCR2000 and EX-8000, works great. I believe there is a preset for it in the yahoo groups, I "taught" mine with a Cubase device panel. I noticed some parameters acting differently with the controller, you can detune the h**l out of it for example. In a true Behringer fashion it works great on ...

Re: Roland D-50 virtual editors?

If I remember correctly the editor in your link doesn´t do s**t even if you can get it to work, you can send a few patches but thats it ,no editing. Midiquest works (surprisingly), but it isn´t free, Sounddiver is not available anymore but "can be obtained" and works (much better usually than midiqu...

Re: Kurzweil Synth as efx processor?

Mine doesn't anyway. Must be something you get with the sampling option. I've never really liked the Digitech 256 chip in the K2000 anyway. Rather flat and muddy. You can feed audio in trough the other (B?) output stereo pair, and trough the effects section, doesn't require sampling option. I don't...

Re: MKS-50 vs EX-8000

I have both, the MKS is usually very cheap so why not? The EX mono/unison is such a distinctive sound that it really doesn't suit everything. And the lack of PWM. The EX in my opinion has better filter.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!

What the h**l is wrong with the mono mode? It starts making noises (when stopped) like theres an LFO and noise in the filter and eventually flips out totally? Nothing helps save for a reboot. Using Cubase 5 if that matters.

Re: About Cubase,Live and Neurofunk

Not sure how midi works in Live, but in Cubase read about "external instruments". And check the internets for device panels for your synths. Basically you'll need a dedicated midi port + audio in per synth.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!

get the XT, the blofeld lacks a lot of what makes the microwave special, mainly the multi stage wave envelopes which give you super cool wave (and other parameter) sequences. Route env 3 or env 4 to wavetable, or both, or compile them in mod matrix? Then FM with other osc etc etc etc. Yeah, it does...

They were for early adopters, it's stableish now. Where is my VST editor, Waldorf?
