Re: alpha juno 1 & vs alpha juno 2

it should be noted, that using an external midi controller with the alpha juno 1 can be a little frustrating when it comes to polyphony. there is a funky cpu thing that tricks notes into holding as long as they are kept pressed down, so you actually have to make sure you release a key on the control...

Re: alpha juno 1 & vs alpha juno 2

Solderman is correct, the keyboard is the only difference between the two. the Juno1 is a plastic POS that usually come in very poor condition. I've had both. Just my opinion. the size of the Juno 1 is perhaps the only reason I keep it around. (I now have a juno 6 and it makes the 1 a little unnece...

Re: Yamaha DX7 vs. DX11 Key Action

DX7 is different action from DX11. They're both Good, but DX7 is one of the best actions I've ever played on a synth. Superb keybed... it's very springy, but with a medium resistance that just feels money. Note: DX7 does not transmit the full midi value up to 128 in the velocity sensitivity... goes ...

Re: dx11 velocity problems

Thanks for the info, guys. @sequentialsoftshock, yes CR2032. Just need to locate the proper battery holder. @DX7Alex, yes, you're right... this synth was very dusty when I got it. Luckily the contacts are good to go, but the buttons certainly need some cleaning. DX11 is easier for me to program than...

dx11 velocity problems

Hi synth frenz I just picked up a Yamaha DX11 in good shape, but it's not currently velocity sensitive. I've already opened it up and cleaned it, but not the key contacts. It does do aftertouch, but only when I specify the aftertouch to be active. When I specify the velocity sensitivity to be active...

Re: Ibanez AD9 analog delay

the newer models do not use the famous panasonic chips, which purportedly have better tone and delay decay. the newer models use a chinese chip. i just bought a keeley ad9, i'll see how it goes. there's a long comparison on the maxon website between the two, and it definitely leans in favor (no surp...

Re: Analog delay?

Room treatment and placement are key for you, for anyone. Get thee to the Gearslutz acoustic treatment subforum and post this question there... there are some knowledgeable folks over there who are more than willing to take the time to help you out.

Re: Analog delay?

hmm... I kind of think you are chasing a ghost here by trying to have a physical delay unit for your subwoofer.

really think you should look into other solutions, like room treatment, placement of sub, where you are sitting, brand of sub, etc.

Re: Analog delay?

where is your sub positioned? try moving it around. You can put the sub in a corner. that's a viable place. i agree about the room treatment. it doesn't make sense to me that you are experiencing this. how far away from the sub are you? do you have room treatment? bass traps of thick fiberglass/rock...

warming up my DX7

Hi all, I hope this post finds you well. I am looking for options to warm up, fatten, soften, my DX7. My search has taken me into some different realms: analog delays, analog filters, and, yup, analog compressors, primarily. My eye has been on an MF-101, some of the old analog delays by Boss/Ibanez,...
