Re: Roland 909 Day
The reason behind the boutiques being labelled 'limited edition' and the Aira line being a separate sub-company from Roland even though they're really regular Roland products is that the Boss at Roland is strongly opposed to looking backward, doing reissues or retro things. They had to fight really...

Re: Arturia Matrixbrute
The previous Brutes were cheap in price but also cheaply constructed . . . hopefully this is a proper flagship from or the line and no corners were cut with the manufacturing. No way the minibrute was very well made, thick metal faceplate etc The keyboard was slightly cheap early on but on the late...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey
Played the Korg Odyssey this week. Sounds pretty good, feels pretty crappy. Cheap plastic-y bits, dumb mini keys, and expression buttons that aren't very expressive because they're really hard to press down. Try before you buy if you can because I'd be disappointed getting this in the mail after sp...

Re: New Elka Synthex?
How will they get CEM's enough you reckon? Rumors a while back mentioned that Behringer (who now have their own plant) were to start re-manufacturing Curtis chips for their own analogue poly. The revived GEM company would be an obvious customer ;) Yeah Uli posted on GS, full post here: https://www....

And Odyssey is like that too?ppg_wavecomputer wrote:volumetrik wrote: In answer to your question, the SEM VCOs are jumpered internally so that both will be driven by the same control voltage.

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey
Since it's duophonic how will it sound when triggered via CV/Gate? Just one of the oscillators?
For example on the SEM both oscillators trigger without sync on, will it work like that on Odyssey too?

Re: New hybrid digital/analogue Roland Synth?
What I don't understand, is if there is an analogue oscillator, why they are running it along a digital emulation of analogue? What I've heard of the System 1 plugouts is excellent, and it seems a step back if Roland spent all that time modelling accurate representations of their old oscillators, t...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
The sync box prototype has an early 90's ugliness to it that I quite like. haha I that it's the closest were gonna get to a new Roland analog. Heres some posts from GS.. Oh by the way Roland aficionados I read today that Roland were very active around lots of analogue stalls at recent Messe. They a...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
my take from this since im not interested in the products, is that roland has finally made their stance clear on the whole analogue revival going on. Roland has been making their stance incredibly clear for years now, it seems that most people aren't listening though. How did they make their stance...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
First and foremost... most people who want analog don't actually want analog... because analog includes things like unpredictable variation, noise, good AND bad results (at least as far as predictability), and imprecise tuning. THIS is why analog simulations never work. They're trying to sound anal...
