Re: Old Virus, Old Nord, for that matter all "Old" versions
the nord 3 has a sort of permanent bite to it, almost a distortion the 2 is much cleaner sounding... Interesting - anecdotal reports always seem to indicate the reverse of this, i.e., the NL2 has the bite and grit, but the NL3 has the clean digismoothness. I don't have an NL2x, but I have an NL3, a...

Re: Old Virus, Old Nord, for that matter all "Old" versions
i've been playing a nord lead 3 for some time now as my main synth. i think many of the reviews of it unfairly categorize it as "thin" or "cold" sounding. as always, it's in the programming. to be honest, when i first got the synth i wasn't impressed...but i spent a day reading the manual and starte...

Re: What's the best Knob twiddling Analog synth
when i first read the thread title, "voyager" popped in my head
but at your budget, you might as well just get a used VA synth
e.g. nord lead 1 or 2x, jp8000, ms2000, etc etc

Question for Nord Lead 3 owners
I recently purchased an NL3 on ebay, intended to be my main gigging board. However, I have recently found posts on several forums which point to a reliability issue with the NL3. Apparently, it is very sensitive to having the correct voltage, and any fluctuation in voltages will cause the synth to r...

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
interesting. the third design looks larger than the previous ones. i can only wonder what the MSRP will be. the design is still evolving, so i'm sure it's too early to tell.

Re: Korg RADIAS Discontinued
And let's face it, Access eats everyone else's lunch in the VA market these days. The Radias may turn out to be one of those things that everyone re-discovers five years from now, and all of a sudden you'll see used ones going for $1500. I have owned TWO VIrus TI Polars...the first one was so buggy...

Re: Korg RADIAS Discontinued
This is really a synth that has suffered from horrible presets, and a sort of identity crisis. Almost all the presets are "press one key and a whole song plays" trance c**p, gimmicky IDM sounds are plentiful. The thing is, once you delete all of them, and really look at the potential this thing has,...

Re: Korg RADIAS Discontinued
The radias came out and I immediately felt they were trying to gimmick people into thinking it was something more than it was. I guess it was impossible to have a Radias thread without somebody coming in and writing it off as c**p. Yawn. I don't understand why people must always hate on Korg, and p...

Re: Korg RADIAS Discontinued
I didn't realize they were blowing them out. My local GC has always had two on the showroom floor, even as recently as a few weeks ago. In fact, the whole reason I asked about them, was because they were gone. Then he looked on the computer and saw they were discontinued.

Korg RADIAS Discontinued
Just a heads up, I spoke with my local Guitar Center keyboard manager, and apparently the RADIAS has been discontinued. He told me he literally can't get any more, it comes up as discontinued in his system. However, there is still some stock available at some stores, and the online shops still have ...
