Re: Slight buyer's remorse on my Jupiter 6...

Having owned and sold a lot of vintage pieces years ago, all I will say is that some instruments do not live up to the hype once you finally have it in your hands. Everyone's tastes are different, buyer remorse on a vintage synth may be more common than folks like to admit. This. The hunt is more e...

WANTED: One WHITE button cap from Roland CR78/Jupiter 4

Hi all,

Looking for one WHITE button cap for my CR-78. I don't need the button, it works fine. Just a cap for it. If they are the same size as the ones on the Jupe 4, I would take one as well. Thanks.

Re: Andromeda A6 or Jupiter 8?

The Andromeda is much more Oberheim than anything as far as polys go. Unless you need to program really complex sounds or need a full 8 voices or to use splits, the Juno 60 and its punch and heft and chorus probably gets you the closest IMHO. Andy's fantastic though and well worth the money. Jupe 8 ...

Re: Waldorf XT Repair - Reputable shop?

Before you send it anywhere try pushing down on all of the chips first and reseating them if needed. I had similar issues with an XT once and that fixed it.

Disco/HiNrg band Lime used the Jupiter 8 a lot. Pretty much all the time.

Re: Your lifelong equipment list

Korg DSM-1 I completely forgot that I had one of these years ago. I never got sampling properly situated in my process back then, so it was happily sold. Now that I'm getting into sampling, I'd love to have one again, just to see what I could make with it, but their prices have gone way up. If you ...

Re: Your lifelong equipment list

Kind of funny, kind of depressing, here is the stuff I've had and SOLD over the years. There has also been a lot of outboard and pedals as well. Most of my current synths are in my signature and then I have a lot of modular, outboard and pedals. The things with an asterisk are things I regret sellin...

Re: Thrift store find.

I do the flipping with CDs and records now. Really good gear deals like the old days seem to be gone and there's so many more people looking for gear now. The record/CD racket seems tedious but adds up over months and years if you know what stuff is worth and what sells and what doesn't. On topic, I...

Like a lot of dance Brits, they also used a lot of TX816 at the time. Yamaha FM as you say.

Re: Sequential Prophet 2000 or Korg DSS-1

Both fell into my hands within the past year. They are both very great but very different. Prophet sounds much nicer as far as smoothness of the filter goes and low noise. The DSS-1 sound is a bit clunkier cheaper but has many quirky synthesis options that make it one of a kind. It gives me that PPG...

Re: What synth have you bought more than one of?

I had two Syncussions for a short while so like, 4 channels of Syncussion, but the financial draw to sell one of them after awhile became too great and it's 2016 so its easier than ever to multitrack, sample, etc.

There are tons of things I've owned multiple times only to sell and rebuy.

Re: Dave Smith price drops

I noticed the price of the Prophet 12 desktop dropped drastically at Tom Lee up here in Canada, recently. Makes sense. All these DSI posts make me a bit sad that I traded my Poly Evolver Keys away recently. But it was an offer I couldnt refuse. But still it sounded fabulous. Not sure whats in it but...

Re: places to sell vintage synths (UK)

Are you looking for other stuff? Or just need the cash? Trades work great, especially if youre local and open to a wide variety of gear. Other than that you can sell locally but be prepared to sell for a good cheap price. People wont give you Ebay prices for a local sale. Some people consign their s...

Re: What should I buy?

The pro2 iis the first synth ive played in a long time that made me think that i could sell everything and just use that. Yep. That's why I had to have one. I had to sell my Eventide Eclipse (have an Orville) and MC-202 to get it but it was more than worth it. Amazing synth and really can do ANYTHI...
