Arpeggiators in 1976?
In the "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" (Gordon Lightfoot)... I hear what sounds like an arpeggiator here at 2:38 https://youtu.be/9vST6hVRj2A?t=2m38s From what I read online, it seems that it was either a Moog Apollo or Polymoog. It sounds like an arpeggiator to me, but maybe it is a skilled ke...

Generated Sequence feature on Opcode Vision?
I was listening to The Moody Blues - Rock N Roll Over You today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f-PmwamW9U The repeating synth riff at the beginning reminded me of a feature called "Generated Sequence" in Opcode Vision sequencing software for the Mac. I could only find a single reference online for...

Trigger +5V to control MIDI?
I bought the drum machine of my childhood - the BOSS DR-220A on eBay.
Is there an effective and economical way to convert the +5V trigger out to control MIDI?
I really like the internal timing of the 220 and I'd like to have it control some of my synths.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0M8AK_P-no Nothing too exciting... Just threw some Apple Loops together and made a song. Redid some of the loops with Roland Juno-60 (main riff: preset 17 brass, pads: preset 58 PWM Chorus, bass: preset 31 w/ VCF tweaks), filtering sounds: Vince Clarke (Lucky Bastard...

Re: Juno 60 Battery Issue
The patches started going out last year on my 60. I had replaced the battery in 1990 so I thought that it just needed a new battery. The tech said that the battery was fully charged. So he cleaned the inside really good and replaced the battery anyway (He put in a clip in so that next time the batte...

Roland Juno 60 Success Story!
My Juno was losing its presets which made me think the battery was going out. I had it changed in '89 or '90. Took it to a guy, he pulled the battery and it was fully charged at 3.3 volts. He put a new one in anyway - with a quick change clip. Great I thought. It's probably shot. He cleaned it up re...
