Simmons SDS1 - Making EPROMS
I found a red Simmons SDS-1 drum (complete with protective cover), like the one pictured below, in a junk shop. It was lying under a pile of junk at the back of the shop and the guy running the place either didn't know what it was, or if it worked. He sold it to me for £5 I got it home and wow, it w...

Re: New Electronic Music Magazine
Due to a computer glitch (machines, eh?) the mag is now out on Thursday 26th July in UK stores.
Mail order copies should be unaffected.
Sorry, if anyone has been trying to hunt it down in the interim.

Re: New Electronic Music Magazine
I'll check, I do know that the publishers (Future) use the iTunes store so it was discussed as a possibility. I actually just recieved my copy in the mail, and as biased as I am I can't imagine any fan of electronic music not liking this. The main artists in this issue include John Foxx, Underworld,...

Re: New Electronic Music Magazine
Hi Ned, Do you know I've been trying to get an answer to the question of overseas availability and no-one's been able to tell me for sure. I know it is available internationally by mail order (see the link in my original post), but I'm not sure if it is going to be available over the counter. I know...

Re: New Electronic Music Magazine
Hi guys, A response to both queries. Yes, the emphasis will be on electronic music rather than gear. That seems to be where things are lacking, with other gear-orientated magazines already doing a fine job. Sorry I wasn't trying to pass it off as a tech mag per se, which is why I didn't post it in t...

New Electronic Music Magazine
Hello all, As a longtime board lurker I wanted to let people know about a new magazine devoted to electronic music past and present called suitably enough, 'Electronic' which launches in the UK this week. It is available worldwide via: http://tinyurl.com/colae97 I'm biased naturally because I write ...

Re: Colourbox
You can get most of their back catalogue on Napster, and I'd be surprised if it wasn't on iTunes or Amazon as well.
Spotify has most of their album available to listen to, in the UK at least.

Re: Colourbox
They only did one 'proper' album. But there are a couple of complilations of singles, promos, B-sides and 12" mixes. Never conventional they didn't follow the conventional album and single pattern, seeming to release stuff when ever they felt like it or had finished something. Among the best of thes...

God, I loved them. I'm talking about the largely studio based band formed by brothers Martyn and Steven Young on the 4AD label in England. They did some terrific singles and a dynamite album, and then swiftly disappeared. They are best known these days for their part in M/A/R/R/S - Pump Up The Volum...
