Re: novation k station

The K-station is a neat little monster. I usually use it for growl-y arpeggios, though never for live use. It has an error where it likes to reset itself every 6-7 minutes, which I never got around to diagnosing/fixing :/

Found mine in a pawn shop for $200

Re: Organizing your synths

So, I slatwalled three out of my four walls waist-height and higher. Its sturdy and the arms used to hold gear are music-store-heavy-duty. The forth wall is my computer desk/keyboard stand/monitors. And in a corner and under the mixer are two racks of gear (stuff like a Wavestation A/D, Microwave, ...

Re: Connecting all of your synths w/o a mixer

Oh wow, many more replies/ Well, yeah, I knew I could just get a mixer, but I was looking to do some DIY stuff and it seemed like a simple project until Stab Frenzy showed how it is not a good idea to make just one long merger. So I just ordered a line mixer, which mixes all of my shelved key-synths...

Re: Organizing your synths

I eventually was able to find some of those REDD ikea shoestands to go with my Broder shelf setup. I also jerry-rigged a wall-control stainless steel pegboard for all of my cords to hang from.

Pics soon to follow. (this is still a work-in-progress for me)

Connecting all of your synths w/o a mixer

So I've been wanting to get into building audio components for my mini-studio AND I've been wanting to have everything plugged in all at once, but without going out to get ANOTHER mixer to plug into my 16-channel mixer. I thought of building a merger box almost like the Spider Audio Merger and Split...

Re: Organizing your synths

I've actually been here a while, but I rarely post; and I lurked for a long while before I even joined. I usually found the info I needed before I asked a question so... (That's when you know you've made a great website) Anywho, I think I'll be using the Broder shelves. I have two living rooms and o...

Organizing your synths

I have been remodeling my entire home and I'm just now getting to my studio space. I've always had my main synths (Radias, Juno-60, Q) on a Pro-line 3-tier stand, but this thing takes up a bunch of space and it is also my touring rig. So I was looking for ways to make my studio as pretty as it is fu...

Re: Daft Punk pre-human after all synths?

Well, I'm not sure about the synths on Around the World (seems like fairly straightforward subtractive stuff), Da Funk (except for the 303 obviously), or Burnin', but I can confidently say that a distorted, resonant, Juno 106 with high noise setting is behind Rock and Roll (LFO delay), Rollin' and ...
