Re: dead alesis ion main output pre-amp FIXED!!

Remove the two FETs, do not replace those as the problem will eventually come back.. just remove them and it will fix your problem.

Re: Van Halen "Why Can't This Be Love" What Synth Is That ?

Eddie had a Roland JX8p so I read in a 1987 or 1988 magazine article. It has a sync lead patch. He could have used it, if not then likely the OB8.

Re: Prophet 6

I love everything about it except having only 49 keys. It reminds me of the same limitations I had with my Alesis Ion. The Prophet 6 looks perfect and has everything that I had wished that my Prophet 5 had such as effects and an arpeggiator. But only 49 keys... man I can just scream... NO NO NO!!!!!...

Re: Pointer Sisters - Jump -what synth? (TOTALLY NOT VAN HAL

It's funny because I was thinking about the same thing today when hearing Pointer Sisters doing jump. I can hear a Jupiter 8 and a Prophet 5 in that song. The arpeggios have that tangy sound to them, kind of a slight portamento sound but it's probably not porta.

Re: advice price for Roland Jupiter 8?

The problem with buying synths as an investment is there are almost always unknowns that pop up. Repair bills can get expensive. No one knows if a Jupiter 8 will continue to climb or drop in value. A lot of it has to do with the economy at that time. I have one that is a solid 9/10 and I would not s...

Re: Synth prices and inflation

Here is my theory. I think that prices continue to climb for several reasons. One of the biggest contributing factors I think is YOUTUBE. Many players like to show off their vintage gear on Youtube. They buy a vintage synth show it off, then they move on to another vintage synth. Well, they want to ...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

It's pretty simple actually. Most of the sellers really don't want to sell the keyboard but they would if someone was willing to pay the right price. As far as dealers, they have a risk that they take when buying and reselling. They are not going to buy a Jupiter 8 for $4,000.00 from someone and the...
