Arp Odyssey replacement slider help...

Greetings synth lovers! I recently acquired a beautiful MkIII Odyssey (2823) and I'm in the process of getting this little gem back up to speed. I successfully did the Kevin Lightner PCB cleaning (simple green with high pressure water) which worked great at cleaning most of the crud out of the slide...

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

Jexus, I think the biggest reason for the Nord hype in the past is that from a production standpoint the little Nord Lead cuts through the mix very well. Yes, it can sound boring by itself but almost every Nord I've worked with professionally has had non-factory presets and quality FX to route throu...

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

Seamonkey, its all good my friend!!! I can personally attest to the "subjective" part of owning and using synths and other musical devices. A few years back I created a part for song that helped the album we were producing go Platinum and the sound came from a circuit bent (severely hacked up) DX7. ...

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

FluoD, the NL2x is very different from the Prophet and Jupiter. I'm going to have to agree with some of the above comments that by itself it can sound a bit dry and limited "not shitty like the above poster mentioned" but it is more of a unique raw "Nordish" type of sound that is pretty good for a V...

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

Jack, not trying to be rude, just giving an honest opinion, sorry if I came across that way. If everyone here wants to defend personal synth reviews from favorite forum members that's really none of my business. And reviewing a synths sound characteristics without a quality way to do so, well I gues...

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

Good for you Ry-Fi, I'm glad you put so much trust in others because of Youtube. My comments were about the original "jexus" post. Looking at his website only makes my point more solid. A massive collection of gear but not a mention of any professional level monitors or sound treatment in his studio...

Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...

If you bought a 2x and don't have any idea how to actually use it as an instrument then who's fault is that? The Nord synths are pure magic in the right hands with the right hardware/software FX and some programming talent. Stop buying professional instruments then whining about it if you have no de...

Re: Legalities of using the word MiniMoog

Just change the name to "MiniMoo" and make the GUI look like a cow with knobs on it. Problem solved!!! : )

Re: DSI MoPho

Ok, who's had a chance to grab the new Pro-editor for the Mopho? I did and it has really opened up the creativity with this synth. The random, mutate and morph patch generators are absolutely a blast to use and sometimes you get an awesome sounding patch that you would never come up with on your own...

Question for MIDI guru's ???

Is there a way to take NRPN data with a range of 0-16383 and convert it to normal CC data with a range of 0-127? What I want to do is take my "cutoff knob" NRPN data and convert it into CC so I can fit it into a usable MIDI range of 0-127. My issue is that my synth (DSI Mopho) uses a range of 0-164 ...

Best bang for the buck filter box???

So in your opinion what is the best "bang for your buck" filter box? I've heard good stuff about the "Frostwave" MS-20 filter clone but these seem kinda hard to find. Are the Moogerfooger boxes a value for what they do or would it be money better spent and even possible to use the audio input of a "...

Re: DSI MoPho

Quick question... I just got my Mopho and wanted to know why it doesn't have the ability do produce a Sine Wave either in the oscillator or lfo parameters? It seems like such a simple thing for any synth to do, am I missing something or is this by design for some reason? BTW, this thing can take the...
