Re: MIDI for iPad Mini with Lightning Connector

Right - audio out is the phones out on the iPad itself. I use a 1/8" stereo to two 1/4" splitter cable into my mixer (a Mackie 820i). It works good enough for me. The camera connection I use is this: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD821ZM/A/lightning-to-usb-camera-adapter If you already have a M...

Re: MIDI for iPad Mini with Lightning Connector

MIDI isn't audio, it's just note on/off info, what note, instrument data, and various modulations. Pretty much a constant stream of letters and numbers as you play. Audio comes out of the iPad anyway, just hook the headphones out to a channel on your mixer. Works perfectly with my ipad4 , and I get...

I have an iPad Mini and it also powers the Samson.
What camera connector? And is the audio out from the Samson or the iPad's phone jack?

MIDI for iPad Mini with Lightning Connector

I need a little help here as I'm new to iPad synths - Trying to connect a MIDI keyboard (Axiom 25) to an iPad Mini to play the Waldorf Nave (amazing synth) but a bunch of the Core MIDI-compliant products use the old 30-pin connector and don't interface with the new Lightning connection. Just scored ...

Re: Waldorf Pulse 2 - working unit at MusikMesse

How exactly does Waldorf stay in business? I mean, what do their balance sheets look like from quarter to quarter - staff salaries, rent and other expenses vs. actual revenue generated? Customers love their products but they don't build that many, there are shipping delays & buggy OSes, etc. So how ...

I just tried it, and I'm afraid I don't hear a difference.

Re: How to Sequence a Korg PolySix?

You cannot sequence a PolySix without a MIDI retrofit. The Arpeggiator input to sync the Arpeggiator to a pulse trigger from an early sequencer or drum machine. Not sure about the Chord Memory input, I've never used it. One fun thing you can do, is create a sequence on the Dark Time and send that C...

How to Sequence a Korg PolySix?

Hi Folks, I just got a Doepfer Dark Time and the first synth I wanted to try it out with is my good ol' PolySix. There's a CV Input for the filter cutoff (VCF In), but I can't figure out the input for controlling the VCO. There are inputs for Chord Memory and Arpeggiator, but those haven't worked, a...

Who makes the filters on the A4?

Sorry - I meant to say that I planned to sequencer with a Doepfer Dark Time. I was thinking about an A4, but that's another thing altogether... oops! ;)

Re: Again: Juno or Polysix?

So - how are you liking the PolySix? Hope it's great! I have one but have hardly played it since it needed some maintenance (scratchy pots, button TLC, etc.) Finally got around to finding a repair place and plan to take it in later this week. It sounds great in good shape, it will only get better fo...

Re: doepfer dark time... or?

I've been thinking about the Dark Time as well. For some reason analog sequencers are not big sellers and they're rarely on the used market. I haven't used the Dark Time, but I spoke to the folks at Analogue Haven about the Dark Time vs. MAQ16/3. The MAQ is a hybrid - analog/MIDI. They said the Maq ...

Korg MS-20 Mini vs Doepfer Dark Energy Mk1

Which of these would you consider: 1) more playable, 2) has better modulation capabilities, and 3) as better for sequencing into deep hypnotic tracks? They're within $100 of each other so price isn't really a consideration so much as sound and tweaking. I'm thinking the winner will be sequenced with...

Korg Polysix - repair place in Seattle area?

I'm looking for a decent repair place in the Seattle area to tune up my PolySix. It's in pretty good shape, but a couple of buttons aren't making contact like they should, and I'd like to see it restored to tip-top shape.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!
