Re: New guy here! A couple questions I have...

Or go modular! A eurorack setup with a Morphing Terrarium or Piston Honda (or both) and plenty of modulation would give you some other-worldly results. :D

Re: New guy here! A couple questions I have...

I know this probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but if you can afford the Jupiter 6, then why even consider the others? Hah. He's got a good point there. The Jupiter 6 is a pretty classic and capable synth. It doesn't have all the fancy functions and features the Juno Gi has, but in all h...

Re: Synths in the City

Sounds like a good guy ;) I'll leave that off my list this weekend. But an 808 for $750, good find! There was one at a yard sale for $800 in May, the guy sold it quickly. yeah, I really lucked out. The guy posted it on Analog Heaven and was coincidently moving to my city within a week of posting th...

Re: Synths in the City

Armen is literally an asshole, he buys stolen gear, charges an insane amount for repairs and takes months, etc. Armen's great! Last year I walked into Armen's and asked how much he wanted for a TR-808. He said $2,400! I said that Rogue had just sold one for $1,600 the other day. He repeated, $2,400...

Re: Making songs?

I heard an interesting idea from Tom Cosm (look him up on youtube if you use ableton live, he does excellent tip videos). Take a song you like, warp it to fit your sequencer timeline, and add bookmarks at every event - "bass intro", "drums changeup", "melody evolution" - etc. Then delete the track ...

Re: KLM-367 PCB clone

Oh, I already bought 3 boards. What I meant was I want to wait until all the bugs were discovered so I can address them as I'm populating the boards.

Re: KLM-367 PCB clone

I haven't yet. there were a few issues with the pcb layout, so i figured i'd wait until all those issues are discovered and ironed out. I can't wait to get going on mine though. I have three polysixes i need to get boards done for!!! however, my main issue is getting the parts ordered. For some reas...

Re: Big game hunters trophy

I'm with Arturo00 except that I'm not a collector: Once I stop using a synth regularly, it loses its value, no matter what I've done with it in the past. It comes down to what you want xxx gear to do for you, and if it has served its purpose, it's just taking up space. That's why I'm selling my Jup...

Re: Big game hunters trophy

Yeah I hear you man. I got a prophet 5 in November. it's amazing. lately I've really only been interested in the big boys. The last couple of months i've been looking for an odyssey or ms-20 and I get the same sort of response from people. I get a lot of flack from my friends/family who always say, ...

Re: Best synth buys you've made

Just got a pretty decent shape polysix for $125 last night. It looks like a new battery was installed (this one's white, and all others I've seen are blue), and some of the traces look corroded but everything works perfectly. As well as the dirty key contacts. Which is easy to fix. I have yet to tes...
