Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine
Having a broken unit seems a lot worse than having an unfinished one. Why would they trick people into thinking their product breaks easily?

Re: Hybrid Synths - cheaper poly analog?
There are plenty of synths with digital oscillators and analog filters. Re: Need a good synth for industrial
If you already have a Venom and a K-Station, why do you need another VA? If it has to be between those 3, I'd go with the Moog just for something a little more unique in your setup, though it might be less well-rounded than the others. I think industrial is more about sound-processing than what synt...

I got one of the 13pin-to-audio kenwood cables for the purposes of testing out (other non-S612) audio sources with the filter. Can anyone else attest to this working properly? Here's my experience. Interesting...How did you rig that? Cut off the connector and hardwire new 1/4" ends? Got it on ebay....

Re: Akai AX60
Took a little while since it was the first run, but it was well worth the wait. Mine are walnut with a satin tung-oil finish. They look fantastic! The woodwork is incredibly precise, and there is not a single flaw or rough spot on them. They fit nice and snug, and feel a lot more sturdy than the ori...

Re: Chip Tunes Drums?
I used LSDJ to sample a few different sounds to my E-Mu ESI-2000, and haven't touched it since. From my brief experiences with both, Nanoloop is more graphical and user-friendly, and seems to be geared more towards live performance and tweakability. LSDJ is a little more tedious to program, being a ...

Re: Chip Tunes Drums?
You can still get MIDINES' used on eBay, forums, etc. Just don't buy them from that website. I'm not aware of any similar cartridges for SNES or Turbografix, but they exist for other consoles. Outdated consoles are often cheaper than the cartridges. Here's the one's I'm aware of: Gameboy - LSDJ, Nan...

Re: Chip Tunes Drums?
I thought I should mention: DO NOT BUY MIDINES FROM WAYFAR! The site hasn't been updated in years, but the store still functions. He will take your money, and send you nothing, like he's done with dozens of others (myself included). He occasionally sells them on eBay for ridiculously inflated prices...

Re: Teasing the Analog Side Out of the Evolver
Not because it's a huge deal; just because it would preserve some fidelity at the cost of one more menu option, and another trace on the circuit board. It still sounds fantastic the way it is.

Re: Teasing the Analog Side Out of the Evolver
Also the signal path isn't analogue, I don't think that can reasonably be claimed. Everything goes through A/D and D/A conversion before it hits the outputs. I wonder how difficult it would have been for Dave to integrate a bypass circuit for the analogue oscillators that could be routed to when no...

Re: Akai AX60
From what I've been told, the VSE picture is a mock-up of the prototype AX60. All of the commercial units I've seen (including my own) look just like yours. I've never seen an actual unit with the layout of the prototype. Here is a larger picture of the prototype layout. http://www.hollowsun.com/dow...
