Re: MPC 2500 NOOB QUESTION

I'm about to buy a MPC as well, in my case a MPC1000. The operating system he is talking about os JJ OS, like wiss said. I think the best thing for you to do is to check out these forums > www.mpc-forums.com < and read as much as you can about the JJOS and about your MPC. Even though it is a forum f...

Re: Yamaha DX-7

without wanting to spend a bunch of money on a Prophet A Nord Lead 2 will sound far more like a Prophet than a DX7. That said, it's still a wonderful synth. Stab: they're not easy to find here for such a ridiculously cheap amount; I had to pay at least 200, and they've been rising lately. Hi. I've ...

Ok... better look for a cheaper one.

Anyway, I also have to apologize since I said YMO but was thinking on mid-80s Ryuichi Sakamoto (solo).

Sounds nothing like YMO, is a giant pain to tweak and shouldn't sell for more than 75 Euros or so. In fact this post looks a lot like a troll.

Yamaha DX-7

http://m.bareille.free.fr/synlibdxtx/dx7.jpg Hi fellas! What can you tell me about the Yamaha DX-7 synthesizer? Yes, I know it is a FM synth from 1983, and from what I've heard (some stuff on Youtube) it sounds sweet. Yet... is it still a good synth nowadays? How tweakable is it? What are the PROs ...

Re: Akai MPC 500 vs MPC 1000, and some other questions

Quick answer: MPC1000 The 500 is a lighter version and has less all around. Great machine - just basing this on what I think you may want to do... in which you would need something a bit more full-featured The pros and cons of each of these bits of kit depend on what, and how, you like to do things...

Re: Help me out before my head goes 'boom'!

it seems to me that ableton live would really do u a great job, especially for live jobs... u could record ur songs in ableton, that way u already have the loops that u would need giggin to be "playbacked"... of course u'd need a decent audio interface... Yeah, I think Ableton Live would do the tri...

Akai MPC 500 vs MPC 1000, and some other questions

Hi guys! I've decided to open this thread here in order not to mess the other one. Hope to get the attention of the MPC users of the forum! 1) The topic question is pretty in-your-face : which of the following MPCs offer more bang for the buck, the 500 or the 1000? What are the PROs and CONs of each...
