Re: Korg Mono/Poly dead keys (every 8th?)

I took out the keyboard but still wasn't able to pull out the connector. No blue splodges, but i carefully inserted a slim screwdriver between plug and socket. It made a soft crackly sound like if it's glued from the inside. Well anyway, after that i put the keyboard back in, closed the synth and yo...

Re: Korg Mono/Poly dead keys (every 8th?)

Thanks the both of you and yes it's every eighth key from G♯. I've unplugged the connector from said board (it says KLM-356 on mine btw) but i only unplugged the connector that goes into the board. The other end that goes into the keyboard was to tight. I removed a little bit of dirt that was undern...

Korg Mono/Poly dead keys (every 8th?)

I switched on my Mono/Poly today just to find that there are several dead keys now. :( Strange thing is, when i go through the keyboard starting on the lowest key: First three keys work, next one is dead and then every eighth key is dead, like it follows some kind of pattern. This can't be a coincid...

Filter feedback mod. Wouldn't do this to my Juno though.

Re: First Purchases

Korg M1. Turned out to be not the best one to learn synthesis on.
So when i got bored playing the presets and wanted to make my own sounds i got myself a Poly 800.
But it was definitely an upgrade for me, in terms of editability and a more analog sound.

Re: My TR-606 doesn't like batteries

I just ordered new battery contacts from Technology Transplant and will let my tech replace them.
If this will not fix it we will check if that diode is shorted.
Sounds like a plan!

Re: My TR-606 doesn't like batteries

Anybody? I'm really bad in the tech stuff, therefore i won't open the 606 myself. My tech will do it, but he isn't the best tech in the world and he won't do it for free, so it would be very helpful if somebody could tell about a similar experience with his 606 before, because then we could m...

My TR-606 doesn't like batteries

I have a 606 with a missing battery door that makes all kind of crazy things when batteries are inserted but works fine with only the power supply without batteries inside. My guess is that it has to do with a faulty connection from the battery-case to the memory that causes the 606 to act strange. ...

It's normal, mine makes it too. The inbuild chorus is noisy and crackly on high notes.

Re: The great JX8P giveaway! -thoughts on the synth-

The JX-8P has emotion :!: ...and it's instant 80's if you want it to.
I agree about the programming thing, it's really not that hard without the PG and there are still some nice freeware soft-emus of the PG800 out there.

Re: The great JX8P giveaway! -thoughts on the synth-

I don't understand, why are all those people giving away their JX8P? #-o It really isn't a bad synth. I actually love mine! I even have two of them... and i even have a picture of it on a T-Shirt! Well, i only have two because i found one in mint condition and couldn't let pass it by. My brot...

Re: YAMAHA AN200 control

Anyone who has an200, could you please tell what are the sound parameters that can only be edited via editor software? Anything that is not seen on the front panel is inaccessible. LFO2, PEG, arpeggiator, osc FM, osc detuning, ring mod, controller matrix, HPF, filter feedback, velocity for filter a...

Re: Rank synths based on best presets

I don't know, i have sort of a inner barrier to use patches from other people. This doesn't mean that it's not okay to do so and above all it doesn't mean that i'm an oh-so-great sounddesigner. It's just like it has happened very rarely that i was really impressed with a preset patch. I can only tal...

Re: Rank synths based on best presets

@griffin avid & @vin14 I can't say that i entirely disagree with what you wrote. But the point is in the days where synths doesn't had loads of presets to choose from people were forced to tweak knobs themselves and actually understand the synth instead of just lazily going trough the presets. In th...
