Re: Waldorf Quantum - new 8 voice hybrid poly
Yes touchscreen! Finally. Love the design and features but just never been into the Waldorf sound and this is no different. Nice synth though.

Re: Korg Monologue
Well those Volca VS renders were like high school Photoshop so not exactly surprised there. Brings up the question though, what are they doing with the VS technology? Seems a reboot of some kind would make sense especially the lack of Wave synth on the market. Monologue, yeah not bad, not sure I nee...

Re: Polivoks or Aelita?
hmm that's a tough one, hard to say as I haven't tried either but if I had the chance I'd go with the Polivocks, the unique filter and aggressive look alone make it worth having

Judging by the interest maybe that's what they should make!

Re: Korg Tease
Well at least they're good copies unlike some others I could mention. I remember before this phase of new analog when people round here complained about the exact opposite. Hard to please everyone I guess. Anyway I wouldn't really go around wondering why the big corporations don't innovate enough, t...

Re: Korg Tease
The pattern looks like tolex. Would be nice if it was a KARP 2600 (it's got to be in the works surely?) but don't forget Korg make a whole lot of things apart from synths. Could be an amp using their Nutube . Edit: The colours do match the Polysix though (mostly). I'm intrigued. Oh yeah, I totally ...

Yeah Mono/Poly or 2600 would be a great next move by Korg, fingers crossed.

Re: Yamaha CS-80 (x2) from Zappa's estate
Well, Yamaha reissued the main proprietary chips some time after the end of the CS range. for example, I bought a set of 16 temperature stable oscillators from Yamaha for one of my CS80's only 5-6 years ago. Really? Wow I didn't know that, that's pretty cool, especially given Roland and other compa...

Re: Yamaha CS-80 (x2) from Zappa's estate
Trying to find a cold solder joint... There won't be any of those. The manufacturing quality was top notch. Still is with Yamaha. hmm something as complicated and old as a CS-80, I'm surprised they still work at all, never mind the many proprietary chips just waiting to die on you at any given mome...

Don't want to assume, but the battery is in the right way round? Hard to tell sometimes.

Re: Rack Case, Need to Support Modules?
I had the same concern when building my 16U rack, it depends on a few things really; Will the rack be toured and bumped around? How deep the rack units are (remember a lot of these older modules are very deep and have internal transformers at the back making them prone to bending rack rails or the f...

Re: Yamaha CS-80 (x2) from Zappa's estate
Well I guess that depends how much you need one or will use it, I can imagine it being an awesome synth to play but I certainly wouldn't get that kind of moneys worth out of it.
On a different note, I love the auctioneers estimate, no clue whatsoever

Re: Vintage BOSS PSA-120 Power Adapters
Well 200mA is not really enough for a start, the 606 draws up to 150mA, you want a plug pack that can supply at least double that (300mA) to get the correct voltage under load. As for the SH-101 which draws 1000mA (1 Amp), that's just asking for problems. I appreciate your trying to help, but I do ...
