Re: JD-800 sending Midi data to Ableton
have you enabled that midi input and then routed it to a track? Sorry how do I do that? I vaguely remember how to do it but the way I remember doesn’t seem like an option for this. I think it might be because the JD isn’t receiving or sending midi data it’s not available In Preferences on Ableton, ...

Re: Hardware Synth prices and VSTs.
Well, assembled in the USA.... A lot of the components come from elsewhere because they are no longer made in the USA. Unless they have changed their operation, the circuit boards and enclosure are built by contracting local companies and final assembly is done at the DSI facility. That's about the...

Re: Hardware Synth prices and VSTs.
If you compare the DeepMind to a Prophet, there is a lot more involved than oscillator count. The DSI/Sequential stuff uses much better keybeds and is made in the USA by a small company in smaller quantities than Behringer. That makes it cost more. When the P5 comes out, try to A/B one with a DeepM...

Re: Hardware Synth prices and VSTs.
Yes, but the electronic part that became cheaper is the microprocessors. For awhile, the analog chips for building synths were basically not made. Now they are. but are not cheap. I have lots of VSTs and the highest CPU consumption of them come close to sounding like an analog synth... but need a co...

Re: Hardware Synth prices and VSTs.
$500 in 1999 is $750 now. $500 in 1989 is $1066 now. It goes up as you get into the early 80s due to the late 70s/early 80s inflation.

Re: Hardware Synth prices and VSTs.
there's no reason for them to ever get cheaper, or even stop getting more expensive, unless Behringer clones it... otherwise, they are desired collectibles that are shrinking in numbers due to age.
