Re: Mix bus compression
I also like recording the main mix of my mixer (and maybe sdd some tracks later). Just recently I got an SPL DynaMaxx to keep things under control and to get some pumping if I want it. I chose the SPL because it's cheap yet high quality, easy to use, versatile (decompression, sidechain, gate..) and ...

Not really what you're asking for but you get 4 tracks of "tape" and you need nothing else to make scetches: Teenage Engineering OP-1.

Re: Help me understanding the purpose of the TL Audio Fat Tr
Yeah, it's more for analog summing with two extra channel strips. I actually need just a Mix processor (no analog summing)... something like the TLA Ebony A2. :D

Help me understanding the purpose of the TL Audio Fat Track
I am trying to measure it's usefulness as a mixer and maybe you are able to help me. Looks to me like I can't just connect my stuff to the stereo inputs and use the EQ on the mix (route those inputs to the channel strips). BUT - that seems so strange! Am I missing something? Why is that not possible...

Re: New, knobless mixer for me!
Just ordered one of these to get the most used knob (by far) of my Mackie back: http://www.smproaudio.com/index.php/en/products/monitor-controllers/nano-patch-plus The mighty monitor volume knob. :P In case you're wondering: I can't use the Octatrack to control the volume because the Cue out is used...

Re: Good FX pedals for my synths?
I wouldn't want to make music without some sort of tape delay anymore. These add so much depth, wow and glue to synths (or anything) it's not even funny. So - if I could only have one FX, some knobby (accessable) tape delay would be it (I use the Strymon El Capistan - highly recommended).

Re: New, knobless mixer for me!
That RME looks awesome. Quite an advanced "soundcard". I rarely used the EQ (or really any knob) on my Mackie. It was just used to connect stuff, more than less. Synths have it's own volume knob and I am used to use EQ afterwards, in the DAW. I am not missing much (some more Inputs would be cool, fo...

New, knobless mixer for me!
I have switched my Mackie for one of these: http://www.hyperactive.de/sites/default/files/hersteller/echo/echo-audiofire8-console.jpg I have had the Audiofire 8 for a few years now but I have never thought about this before: it is basically like one of those Firewire/USB mixers - without the knobs (...

Re: STERE OT APES ATU RATIO NF XUN I TWANT ED
The style of your answer is so fitting the style of my topic that I can't help but thinking that it's meant to be. I mean - I've seen it before and kinda liked it - but haven't looked into it at that time because of the unbalanced inputs. Looking for some sound demos now.

STERE OT APES ATU RATIO NF XUN I TWANT ED
Can anyone recommend some "Stereo Tape Saturation FX" unit (or some Fuzz/Overdrive that comes close) that I can use to add some punch and thunder to the output of my drumcomputer? Or am I looking for a compressor that adds distortion? Something cheap. BTW: This is great http://www.recue.net/2011/02/...

Octatrack sample chains
I've created some sample chains for the Octatrack (44100Hz, 16 bit, mono), mostly drum sounds. Eg, there are chains containing 64 kicks, all evenly spaced so you can create a 64 slice grid and instantly use 64 kicks on that track. I've created a torrent with a few chains for testing.
