Re: Hardware performance-oriented mixer
These small mackie look pretty versatile, but keep in mind that you might need more than 4 tracks. It really depends of what you have right now and what you possibly want later in your setup.

Re: Headphones - what do you use?
I've been looking at many headphones I think the HD-202 are the only one that are cirumaural, closed and yet small enough to be carried everywhere..

Re: Cheaper alternative for Monomachine / Spectralis
I found a very affordable emx so I got it, of course I was not looking for that sound but the device is really fun to use, I do not regret it at all.. I forsee that I will sell it some day once I get what I want but I won't lose a buck and the emx is actually very profitable. Now about the Quasimid ...

Re: Headphones - what do you use?
I keep hearing very good comments about the grado headphones I might try them next... but aren't the SR-80 a bit too small? well, it's hard to tell with the picture... I like headphones that cover the whole ear (unlike my mdr-v300 that I only use because they are not broken and I don't care about th...

Re: why macbooks?
I used PC's between 2000 and 2007ish (I'm young ok) and I switch to mac in early 2008ish and so far I had more problems with the macs in like 1/7th of the time than with pc's I'm now as confortable with os x as I was (am) with windows, at work I use windows xp, in fact I barely ever used vista. Cons...

Re: Headphones - what do you use?
Another 7506 user here, I've been using them for a year and I love them, so confortable, nice sound too. Sometimes I wish I had a bigger pair.. maybe the big AKG... even if I got those, I would still use the 7506. I also have some Sony MDR-V300 (the silver ones) I use these when I leave my home, the...

Re: Recession, what recession?
I just got my ER-1 Mk2 is mint condition for the equivalent of 85 pounds and I'm pretty happy with it. Yes the snares are really, really bad, but most of the time, I do click sounds with it.. the crash and hclap are nice click sounds with a really short decay. I don't think the electribes are going ...

Re: Cheaper alternative for Monomachine / Spectralis
Thanks!
I found an affordable EMX-1 that will do the job until I'm serious about getting the Monomachine or Spectralis.

Re: Cheaper alternative for Monomachine / Spectralis
Thanks for your reply. You are right about the title, I followed your suggestion. About the AN-200 and DX-200, I saw that they only have 4 tracks (1 synth, 3 rhythm) that seems to be a problem no? considering boxes like the mx have like 5 tracks for synth and 9 drum tracks... Also, I tried the MX, I...

Cheaper alternative for Monomachine / Spectralis
Hi, so I'm looking for a table top synth, mostly something in a box a bit like the monomachine or spectralis... only for much, much cheaper.. (of course, I understand that it wouldn't be as great as those machines) my budget is around 400usd (for a device that's probably going to be used) I already ...
