Re: Good Price for a Yamaha CS-60?
I bought mine for 1500$ shipped and I thought I was quite lucky. I'd say a Cs-60 in good condition, with all accessories is worth around 3000$ usd or more these days. over 3 grand for 'good condition', c'mon. obviously you're saying that to drive up your eventual resale price, dude. Yes, they...

I haven't played an 80 yet, but I think the 60 can produce similar sounds easily. Sure it has 1 osc, but I don't think it sounds thin...

Re: New Roland Juno 60 DEMO
Very Nice!
I recently bought one too and had it serviced by my tech.
It sounds amazing and can kick my Jupiter 4's butt for some sounds.
I had a Dtronics midi kit installed and an IEC plug, it looks even cooler now!

Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths
I love it when people post synths with super high prices like that makes me laugh and I can imagine them getting hate mails. I saw a Six-Trak for 900$ on Kijiji, I always wonder what their thought process is, eBay x2 maybe?

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
I think what those sellers mean is that they want to sell it only if they can get that price. I'm one of the apparently uber-capitalist who sells for unreasonable prices, but somehow still sells. I think whatever it sells for is reasonable, the reason being that it sells. A capitalist market is fair...

Re: midi clock sync for vintage synths?
Then the answer is no. If the vintage gear has a CV input, you can use some MIDI-CV boxes from Kenton, Encore, etc. to send a midi-synced lfo. But these only syncs the start point of the lfo. I think the only way to have a proper midi-sync'd lfo in CV form is to use Volta or Silent Way with a compat...

Re: Korg se 500 delay barely or not audible?
Again tu could just be a need to adjust the mechanism that feeds the tape on the heads.
I'd also clean the heads and other parts with alcohol, and change the tape.
Recapping is overrated, but not a bad thing if done properly.

Re: Korg se 500 delay barely or not audible?
If the tape is intact and runs fine, you could try bending the little metal tab that pushes the tape unto the heads so that it pushes it harder, a small adjustment can make the difference between no echo and a normal level. If this doesn't work, then sending it back is a reasonable option. Otherwise...

Re: String Synth Battle Royale: Yamaha SK vs Roland RS vs ???
I've had both, a Solina (first version) and an Omni II. They sound very similar but the Solina was a bit warmer and full.
In the end I sold both because they're not really my think and playing them was frustrating because of their paraphonic nature.

looping sampler : a hardware ableton
Hi guys! I'm looking for a sampler that will loop short and multiple bar length phrases from my synths, I need it to do the following : -start and stop loop recordings on time with the beat, similar to how Ableton works -receive midi clock so it can start/stop on time and not run out of sync. -havin...

Re: ROLAND JUPITER 4 QUESTION
The prices vary wildy, they are often in need of calibration and/or servicing, I'd say as low as 500$ if you're very very lucky, but usually between 1200$ and 2000$, I've seen one go for 2500$ on eBay. Since mine has been fully restored and calibrated, and has the CHD midi kit, I think with some luc...
