Re: synths for authentic orchestral and vintage keys
Ohhh you can read up on the EMU modules here on the VSE site proper. In among the rather splendid and totally out of most peoples reach, "proper" analogue synths.

Re: synths for authentic orchestral and vintage keys
emu modules if you want midi capable hardware. Cheap and so easily expandable and available. They sound surprising nice into the bargain. Midi spec is top notch on most all modules. Native Instruments Kontakt if you want to use a PC. (That includes they f**k Apple things) All will be well under a £1...

Re: laptop suggestions for mixing
Call me a c**t like many before but here we go : do NOT use a laptop for a desktop task. Desktops have so much more capacity for EVERYTHING. AND yes despite having so many personal Apples, Crow-wise, they are seriously lacking in the performance to price ratio. And in the "it just works" stakes, if ...

Re: Dear Synthy Santa
Apparently Santa needed to save some money this year (bad economy) and is stuffing gift synths with cheap or underrated voltage regulators in the PS. Folks, we don't want a repeat of The Great Fizmo Debacle. After you unwrap, resist temptation to plug-in and get those regulators fixed by your favor...

Do what the f**k you want. Its your conscience. Arrr me heartys. Pirate Bay be just round corner. I hate speaking like a f**k pirate. I thought that art was art for arts sake. Digital mixing? Best advice and something EVERYONE forgets is the simple act of watching your levels.
Digital will never forgive you breaching the limit.
