Vocoder Advice

Dear All, Am just about to join an E.L.O tribute band and need a decent vocoder. Am not using any computer on stage so will need to be a stand alone unit. I only want it for the voice effects as everything else will be handled by other synths. I have looked at the Akai Miniak but was wondering if an...

Re: Synth Technicians and Repairs

I live in Hampshire UK and am looking for a technician to repair / replace my Roland D70 screen (already have the screen) and also to restore all factory sounds, as the guy I bought it off has wiped most of them!! Have tried a few different firms but they seem to just be timewasters and never get ba...

Re: AAARRGGHHHH! Roland D70 New Problem

I have just tried it again and it's a total loss! No lines, no fade. One minute all the writing is there and the next, it just disappears completely! The backlight is working fine and, once the writing has gone, you can still adjust the brightness using the dial on the back. I even felt the screen w...

Re: Roland D70 Conversion

Too true! I had one when they first came out and only ever really used the sounds that came with it; The programming looked a total nightmare, However, the band that I played in 20 years ago want to reform and I wanted to have exactly the same sounds that I used to have, which is the reason I bought...

Re: AAARRGGHHHH! Roland D70 New Problem

Yeah, I was a bit annoyed about that too!

I was going to gig with it this weekend but, I guess I'll have to thoroughly road test it first, just incase there are other problems!!

Oh Well!

Thanks once again for all the advice.

AAARRGGHHHH! Roland D70 New Problem

Have recently converted a D70 from US to UK and all is well? I noticed that after about 10 - 15 minutes of playing I lose the screen readout. The contrast can still be adjusted but there is nothing actually written on the screen. Fearing I had done something in the conversion, I contacted the guy wh...
