Re: Sample packs (old drum machines)
Okay thanks. I was looking for a specific page, though. I downloaded what I wanted years ago, but it has been lost in crashes and re-installs.

Sample packs (old drum machines)
Hello people!
Ages ago someone here posted a page of someone who made free sample packs of old drum machines. He/she also did sample packs recorded via different means, such as from vinyl among other things. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyways, thanks in advance.

Re: Literature on synths/electronic music
Not sure I should reccomend it yet, as I just started reading, but check out Sound in Z. A pretty thick book about electronic music/sound experiemnts in russia during the early twentieth century.

Re: First mixer advice
My first mixer was a Tapco mix120. I never even got to use it, because the person who sold it to me "forgot" to tell me he didn't have the power supply. I don't know how it is now, but at that time Mackie had discontinued Tapco and offered no support. The power supply plug is not universal, so I cou...

Came in second place, much to their dismay.

Yeah you know, painting with a broad brush and all that. I'll go away and let all of you guys take selfies with commodorejohn in peace.

Re: #Selfie Synth
Yes, I agree, and that's why I never said one should take a self-portrait with a camera-phone. Maybe I'm already getting old... I'm confused, does 'selfie' exclusively mean to take a self-portrait of youself using a camera-phone from a bad angle, pursing your lips? If so, why the h**l would that wor...

Re: #Selfie Synth
'Selfie' as in a portait taken by yourself? How would you tell, if it looks good? It's not that hard, with a good camera and a tri-pod.synthroom wrote:I would never hire a person that submitted a selfie for any professional reason. Get someone on the street to take the photo...

Re: #Selfie Synth
I'm sure many of us here have taken one or two selfies in our lifetime for whatever reasons. I'm not saying that taking a selfie is always a pathetic act of an attention-whore, but that does seem to be the overall theme in the #selfie video. To be honest, the only reason an adult should ever have t...

Re: #Selfie Synth
I'm sorry that you just can't stand me disussing my opinion on the topic of a thread and debating it with people who disagree, but that's, y'know, kind of how forums work . debate dɪˈbeɪt/ verb gerund or present participle: debating argue about (a subject), especially in a formal manner . "MPs deba...

Re: VSE Member's Gig
Nothing scummy about that! It sounds quite nice, to be honest. I'd love to drop it all and just travel around with a camera and some sound-equipment. Norway is rather expensive, though. One beer here costs more than what you pay for a bed. I've been unemployed since september, just came out of a two...

Re: VSE Member's Gig
Hey, I'd love to go to Costa Rica! Unfortunately I have quite a lot of stuff to deal with at the moment. Concerts, an exhibition with a book release, I'm applying for school, and I need to find a job for the summer. I've been unemployed for a long time now, and don't really have the money for a vaca...

Re: VSE Member's Gig
I'm not sure anyone still reads this thread, but I have an upcoming concert the first of june, this sunday. The evening is called PreFøkt, it's in Oslo at Deichmanske Bibliotek at grünerløkka, and starts around 18:00. I'll be playing second, at around 19:00. As usual I guess it'll mostly consist of ...
