Re: Elektron Octatrack

I just think about how awesome live-remixing would be. You could load whole tracks of a song in...chop up vocals and set them against different beats and synths

I'd love to have one. Now I'll just wait five years till people are selling them used.

sound quality of Korg ES-1

hey everybody so I'm thinking I need a sampler to add that dimension to my sound. I was thinking of getting an mpc1000, but the ES-1 is so much cheaper, and has that super-fun electribe sequencer. my only concern is the sound quality of the electribe. How much does it change the sound of what you re...

when a minijack is not just a minijack

hey guys so I'm trying to sequence my Novation Bass Station Rack with CV/Gate from my MC-202. I had some 1/4" - 1/8" adapters but those were pretty cheap and I was getting poor tracking so I went and got some actual cords with one size on each end. those didn't work at all. so I did a little test. t...

new to cv/gate; MC-202 sequencing Novation Bass Station

So I picked up a Novation Bass Station this afternoon, brought it home and hooked it up via cv/gate to my Roland MC-202. Problems: 1. No sound when I use the "ext synth" outputs on the mc-202. 2. Poor tracking: every fifth our sixth note out of tune, and all of the bottom-most notes out of tune 3. I...

Re: MC-202 question

can the sequences be different lengths? like say a four bar sequence playing at the same time as a 7-note loop sequence?

MC-202 question

So I know that the the 202 has CV/gate out and is a "2-channel" sequencer. Does this mean that it can play one sequence on the onboard synthesiser and simultaneously send out a different sequence? I'm a bit confused about it, and there's a rather good time-limited deal available. All I'm wondering i...

MC-202 or Novation Bass Station

Just in terms of sound, not taking into account the onboard sequencer of the 202. I've heard that the 202 can be "plasticky". is this the case?

Re: Help deciding a beginner Synthesizer?

I got my first synth back in maybe march or april. it's a Roland JX3P and I think it's a great beginning synth. they can be had for a good price (got mine for 120 CAD, granted it's not in perfect condition) they sound decent, built-in sequencer for looping/bassline fun, dual oscillators for cool det...

Re: your drum machine

I've got an ER-1 which I like quite a bit...I like how you can save different patterns and switch through them for different sections of a song, that's what I've been doing. I've not gotten into the "action sequence" function but I do like it as a drum machine. Eventually I'll get an MFB522 drumcomp...

Re: Your synths and their function/place within your setup

I got myself a JX-3P six weeks ago and have been learning synthesis with it. I use it for the sequencer and for shimmery, airy, held chords, basslines...I feel like I've got a big roadblock ahead of me because I really want to use the sequencer in songs but my other unit, the ER-1, doesn't sync dire...

sequencing for the juno 6? 60? 106?

i'm considering upgrading from my JX-3P to one of the juno's. how would I go about using a sequencer with these? I was thinking of something along the lines of the MFB step64, something analog. what do you guys think? would that work? how would I connect them? and if I were to, how would I sync it t...

Electribe ER-1 question

I'm kind of in a jam here because what the manual suggests I do to solve this problem just blatantly doesn't work. I'm trying to erase preset songs from the memory. the manual says I should use the shift button and press key 16 (which says clear song), then while that key is blinking, press it again...
