Re: Another New/Classic OBERHEIM!!

Well it's way beyond my finances, but I still think it's cool.
Not sure what second-hand ones go for when they come up, but I imagine the price could be similar-ish.
Plus I assume you'd get better reliability with a new one.

Re: Another New/Classic OBERHEIM!!

Whoah! I thought the keyboard in that video was just a mock-up he'd made for himself, but it looks like he's actually producing a new 2-Voice:

Re: Winter NAMM 2012

Hm... I'm interested to see how this one comes out. No audio / video demos yet though - those I'll need to see before making a decision. It seems to have quite the arsenal of features to vouch for itself though. Personally I'm most interested in the Radikal Technologies Accelerator. There is this v...

Looks like a significant improvement in the sequencing. (One sequence per key.)

Re: Winter NAMM 2012

Looks like you can now play Choplifter on the OP-1?
Not sure what the drumming monkeys are for though.
I can't tell if they're just an interface for chaining OP-1s or something, or if they've added a new drum synth?:

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

I can appreciate the attraction of knowing a piece of gear has an analogue signal path, and this synth certainly looks good in terms of design and spec. But for me when it comes to synths like this, it's the core sound that counts. From the few short videos that have come out so far, I haven't heard...

Re: Korg KP3 VS Microsampler

I saw this video for a microsampler workaround to use it as a sort of live looper:

I guess whether it's any use or not would depend on what exactly you're trying to do.

Re: Winter NAMM 2012

I've seen the new Casio synth described on another site as a "lead and groove oriented hybrid synth".
And its model number is XW-P1.
Could it be that XW = 'Cross-Wave' ?
If it's a 'cross-wave hybrid' synth then maybe it has something in common with the FZ-1?
(I'm only speculating wildly here.)

Re: more Korg analog - Monotron Duo & Monotron Delay

I just watched an interesting video of the monotron duo and delay on MusicRadar, but the video doesn't seem to be working now. :? It's started requesting a date of birth - it didn't do that when I played it before. ( http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/first-look-korg-monotron-duo-and-delay-516811 )

Re: more Korg analog - Monotron Duo & Monotron Delay

I just ran the Monotron Duo page on Amazon Japan through babelfish.
At the moment it gives the price as 3980 yen (£35? / $50?) and says something about the availability date being 10th December?
Don't know how reliable this is though.

Re: Boss & Roland serial number decoder

This is interesting. :thumbleft: I did a quick bit of experimentation with the Type II (1981 - 1989) 6-number format, it looks like the first number is the year and the second number is the month? But the year doesn't always run from January to December, for some years it's from May to February or S...

Re: more Korg analog - Monotron Duo & Monotron Delay

These look cool. I've got a question for any of you electronics gurus who might know: is it likely to be possible to remove the scalable keyboard and scaling switch from the Monotron Duo and transplant it into the original Monotron? I prefer the lfo on the original to the x-mod on the duo, but I lik...
