Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!
Just a thought... why only Korg and Dave Smith made now a polysynth based on VCOs? Why Roland and Yamaha dont come to this idea to make again just these synths which are now in cult status, instead of repackaging the same digital ROMpler synth on and on the last 10 years? If the price is affordable...

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!
I said in a similar way to someone long time ago which was like "why not to replace a chick with doll instead too?". But I said so only becouse thats the only thing HE understood. :D However I do not really agree with that comparison, sir. Becouse any hardware synthesizer is better than sex. To me....

Juno 106 is like sex with a real woman, soft synth is more like a m*******n. Don't you agree jxalex?
Once Trump builds the wall we will see vintage synth prices go down again.

Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did
Nope. V-Synth Is Basically Soft Synth Running Inside Overpriced Controller. Nothing Innovative About This Instrument. Sound Is Very Cold And 2D Because Of Digital Sound Creation. Best Rolland Synth Is Jupiters-8, Sound Is In Full 3D And Is Very Warm And Hi-Definition. But Nowdays It Is Very Expensiv...

Re: playstation startup screen: what synth?
Thanks Desmond! Is this your own example? Would you mind trying some single notes in the bass register, specifically a G1 and C1?

Re: playstation startup screen: what synth?
So this recent revive caused to me to do some further research about the PlayStation startup sound ... it was designed by Takashi Fujisawa, one of the founders of SCE. He also designed the sounds for the generative music game Depth (aka Fluid in PAL territories) so if anybody can recognize the synth...

Re: playstation startup screen: what synth?
Excellent find! Another example here -- there's a clear similarity in the decay portion but the resonant sweep is slightly less pronounced in the PS1 start-up (perhaps due to low sample resolution).

Re: do not know this synth NEED HELP! PLEASE
It's digital so probably sounds extremely cold and lacks balls. You'd be better served by getting a true analog VCO synth like Korg Poly-62 or Juno Roland 60.molsies wrote:youre amazing! thank you!

Re: Yamaha Montage synthesizer --- with FM engine!
I spent 10 minutes with the Montage yesterday, very cold and digital sounding, plastic-y and fake like a soft synth. Doesn't have the 3D warmth and ballsiness and sheer rugged manliness of a Yahama CD-80. Now if they would just reissue that synth for $499 dollars with modern built in FX and USB capa...

Re: Reissues you'd like to see...
Yeah I'd love to think I could buy the JP-08 for $399 and get an authentic sounding Jupiter 8 reproduction, but from A/B demos I've seen, the Boutiques don't really cut it IMO. I did mess with the JP-08 at guitar center, and while it is a cool sounding synth module for the price, it's no Jupiter. T...

Re: Roland Boutique
I guess I missed the part about ACB. I suppose I thought they had just used SMT to stuff an actual analog 4 voice in a tiny box. If it's just emulation does it really matter if it's from Roland or not? It still is not the real deal. Not as if you can't fit real analog into something that small. The...
