Re: Moog model D reissue

The price point is awesome.

If I didn't already have an old Model D I would be saving my pennies for a new one.

Re: Moog model D reissue

Only one note at a time and no presets?

I'll pass.

Re: How do you rate Prince on synths?

I remember watching a video where Matt Fink said Prince would show him the keyboard parts.

I think I remember Fink saying Prince did a better job on them.

Re: Buying under-priced vintage synths

In the early 90's I picked up a ’67 Hofner Beatle bass for $40.00.

Talked him down from $50.00 because $50.00 was all I had to my name for food, gas, etc. for the next several days.

I ate carrots and Ramen noodles for a few days while playing my new Hofner Beatle bass.

Re: Yamaha Reface

Personally, I can't wait for this to come out so I can complain about the mini keys or the lack of memory.

Or maybe the presence of memory. We'll just have to wait and see what I hate about this thing.

Re: Buying under-priced vintage synths

There is absolutely nothign wrong with buying the gear for his asking price. There is also nothing wrong with trying to talk him down. It's not sociopathic, or dishonest, or even rude. It's just economics. He will be happy to get rid of the junk and you'll be happy to find the deal of a lifetime. Ev...

Re: CS-50 60 owners

It's here! A few clips of CS50 with reverb or delay. Sorry, it probably needs some EQ. Needless to say, it's everything I had hoped for. Very sensitive, organic sound, dynamic performance controls, and an excellent keyboard! I'm surprised how well it responds to outboard effects too. You'd almost n...

Re: CS-50 60 owners

$2,500 for a CS-50?

I'm glad I bought mine when analogs were not cool.

Re: Primitivism - ideas?

I have be one several shows using Casio SK-1, Casio CK-500, Mattell Synsnics drums, Beat Blenders, Nintendo Gameboy, circuit bent kid's toys, etc.

It's a lot of fun pushing these little devices to their limits and making music with them.

Re: CS-50 60 owners

Oh, and in response to AG, I've found the CS-60 to be very solid and reliable. I've gigged with it many times since I bought it in 1991 or so.

Re: CS-50 60 owners

Not multi-tracked to emulate a CS-80 but here is a track that uses the CS-50 for everything except the drums (and even one of the percussion sounds is the CS-50). http://youtu.be/vFmg050imQw The video was originally meant to be a backdrop for part of a live performance tha never materialized.
