Re: New Mono Synth from Vermona

I listened to the samples and I have to say that I liked them a lot. The basic tone (which is the most important thing in a synth) of the synth sounds very good to me and the CV expansion will make it more versatile. Vermona will definitely receive my 450€.

Re: Vintage samplers: dealing with memory limitations

SP has a weird pitch change algorhithm, that's why the old sampling at high speed and pitching down on the SP sounds so unique. The trick doesn't work nearly as well in any other sampler.

Re: New Mono Synth from Vermona

I really can't understand all this hype for the MONO when: 1) DSI Mopho is cheaper, far more features and memories 2) DSI Evolver it's same price far more features and memories 3) MFB synth 4) It looks ugly If this MONO will cost half than their announced street price I can see a market for this......

Re: Vintage samplers: dealing with memory limitations

I just sample small bits from vinyl or my synths so I don't really even need that much memory. I do that because that's what I do, if I needed long samples I'd use something else. I don't really consider it a limitation, it's just what those devices are. A piano isn't limited because it doesn't soun...

Re: "Potentiometers" on new DSI synths - *Rant Warning!*

How does one learn to write firmware anyway? Can I just buy some DSP's from a store, a book about programming them, connect the DSP's to a computer and start messing around, or are they closely guarded company secrets? I got a programming background (although haven't done it since the 90's), it'd be ...

According to their website it has USB, minijack input, minijack output. No mention of midi.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

Kinda cool but no midi, how can I sync it to anything? Minijack out? Toy speakers? Hope it doesn't cost more than 200€.

Pro One doesn't need to run anywhere... it's great where it is.

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

Didn't the guy who built an analogue polysynth here spent like 1500 on parts alone? It's helluva expensive to build analogues, especially polys.

Re: Hmmm.....Maybe I am missing the point

I thought it's impossible for him to even do a production run of that Linnstrument thingy? Amazon bought the company who owns the patent to the velocity sensitive touchpad technology or something. The big problem with that, imo, is that you need to look at it to play it. You can play a keyboard or a...

Re: Rant: No more microkeyboards!!

since gear has become so affordable, even students can afford them, but have no space for them. I've worked hard to narrow down so I can have the most synthesis power in a small room. right now, even a Micron would take up too much space, and no, I can'tchange that. so, until my education is done, ...

Re: The price of analog filters in synthesizers?

A Korg DX /EX-8000 goes for around 300 Euros, a Waldorf Q+ for about 1600 Euros on E-Bay, a DSI Mopho costs around 300 Euros.... the Korg Monotron will probably cost around 60 Euros. This makes me ask the question: How expensive is it for a synth-manufacturer to empoly analog filters (with modulati...

Re: NEW DSI MOPHO SYNTH KEYBOARD COMING IN LATE APRIL

I wonder why, especially since they can't yet know how big a success the Mopho KB is going to be. If it sells a lot, why wouldn't they make a Tetra KB? Most of the R+D is done already so it's not going to cost as much as designing something from scratch, they could just use the same case as the MKB ...

I wish they do the same with Tetra, I'd definitely buy that.
