Sad, although not surprising.

This must be the one on the back cover of this record, which blew my mind as a kid.

Re: Virus TI2 integration ?

As an aside, Is there any truth in what some people say about the USB audio sounding worse than the analog outs? I can't really imagine how that would be the case, seeing the DACs in the analogue outs are seeing the exact same bits as the USB output is sending It's not the exact same bits, since th...

Do you mean the "brilliance" parameter in the Osc section?

^ This. Space sounds very classy and expensive.
Also, having dedicated knobs for all parameters is nice. No menus to navigate, no shift buttons - you're not programming it, you're playing.

Re: To 2013 and Beyond!

My overall fantasy is a brand new sound that I haven't heard before that's musical. For $500 dollars you get a black box that has a bunch of audio inputs in the back and a few in the front. The top is all weird controllers; knobs, dials and a touch screen. Inside is all DSP effects. All made for ma...

Exactly my situation! Took me years to realize that I don't have to be sitting.
Besides, it helps me feel if what I'm doing is groovy 8-)

Re: DSI Evolver: Help with sysex programming

Here's a little trick I use for controlling the Evolver sequencer with Novation Remote SL. The Novation can be programmed to send SysEx, but only as a single byte (I suppose this limitation applies to most other controllers, except for the most advanced ones). Evolver's SysEx implementation uses two...

Stab, it seems you're referring to this: VST plug-ins engineered by renowned makers such as [...] but have you noticed further down it says And because Auria is helping develop the VST standard on iOS (to let manufacturers easily port plug-ins to the iPad) many more plug-ins will be available very s...

Re: Virus TI such a big deal

Then, by this definition, all digital synths are software synths. If that's the way you see things, fine. It's not a matter of seeing things that way, it's a simple matter of fact. He's not stating an opinion. All digital hardware synths are software driven and are thus at their core software synth...

Re: Virus TI such a big deal

The Wave was a hybrid. Digital wavetable oscillators, but it had analog filters. Oops! Badly chosen example, then  I haven't heard anyone claim the Virus is "more soft" than other VAs, and I'm not sure what that would even imply. I simply meant that in internet discussions Virus gets labeled ...
