Re: CS-80, JP-8, OB-X, Xpander - 2-pole comparison
Comparing each of these by filter alone is difficult as each is the sum of all of its parts. Also none of these sound very similar.

doepfer dark time... or?
I am looking for a stand alone analog sequencer (so cv and gate out) midi is a bonus but not necessary. Thus far I have considered a lot of options. I have decided not to go the diy rout. I am curious if any one would care to give any feed back on the dark time. It seems to have all the features i n...

Re: Analog drum machine... 909, 808, or....???
Thanks guys! All the feedback has been very helpful! Probably going to be saving for an 808 and keeping an eye out for a 606 in the meantime. I have considered the modular rig however i have almost sold off all my eurorack to buy vintage gear.
thanks again!

Re: Analog drum machine... 909, 808, or....???
The Roland TR-808 can also be modded. Can be done nicely in a break-out box, just need to drill a hole somewhere on the backside of the TR-808 to fit the multicable. Do you happen to have a link to some of these mods? I understand the concept of the break out cable but am curious what mods people ha...

Re: Analog drum machine... 909, 808, or....???
Hey thanks for the responses. I have looked at the 606; i will definitely get one some day but i don't think it has enough umf in the kick section for my only drum machine. I have also looked at the acid lab 808 clone. I would ideally try and wait for an 808 that needs a little tlc for less than the...

Analog drum machine... 909, 808, or....???
Hi guys I am looking for a drum machine. Thus far i have been considering the 808 or the 909; looking for more options as well. I have spent some time with a 909 but not an 808. I was initially leaning towards the 909. I really like the 909 interface and sequencer. I thought i would like shuffle and...

Re: Midi to Cv Help!
Thats also a good call i had remembered motu's volta but didn't recall the expert sleepers software. I am going to do some research on that. I was also looking at the USB-Octomod but i am not good with writing software. http://gregsurges.com/circuitry/usb-octomod/ I assume at this point i am going t...

Re: Midi to Cv Help!
I don't think the Kenton is too expensive for what it is. I like that its bus powered and kenton is a brand i trust. But it does have many features i won't use. I am just curious if there is something like the dtronics engineers@work usb to cv & gate but with variable scaling for odd voltages. Thank...

Midi to Cv Help!
I am looking for a midi to cv converter that wont break my wallet but is also flexible enough to use with my keyboard-less Transcendent Tk2(has weird voltage). All it needs to have is cv, gate, and 1 aux. I would also really prefer the ability to use it via usb. I have been looking at the Kenton Usb...

PAIA 2700 Opinion
I have had some interest in buying a paia as they are sold cheaply when they come up. I have been looking at the later 2700 systems with the keyboard. I was wondering if any one has any experience with these units. I understand that the oscillators are unstable but I would mainly be interested in us...

Arp Avatar
Hey dumb question but Im trying to buy an arp avatar and I am curious if i will be able to control it via cv from my Roland SH-1. I believe i have seen tone tweakers control on from an SH-101 but wasn't sure if there was any modification. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ian

Re: Dead Jup 6
Yeah i haven't heard back from him. I asked him how it came to be broken. I mean if its some bad joints or something I'd buy it and fix it up. But if a bunch of the chips are fried i wouldn't be able to afford to fix it up. I'll see if he gets back to me.
