Re: Prophet 6

Well, what would you want to be updated? Add a multi timbral mode, for example or at least a way to double or split the six voices. In any case, there will be some hidden functions anyway, there is a global button for setting MIDI channels, etc. I really like the design, but I would have prefered a...

Re: New Moog apparently...

Another modern Moog synth without a noice generator. Am I the only one considering a noice circuit as a standard part of an analog synth?

Re: just me? or do youtube demos all suck

Well, what annoys me the most is when people (guys) use the microphone of their cam corder to record the demos. Youtube sound quality is already bad at best, using a crappy camcorder mike makes the demos sound even worse. Connect the synth and your microphone to a mixer and record this. Is it that h...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!

how does the ability to model a piano have anything to do with modeling an analog synth? Modeling analog synths was done long before anyone managed to do a good piano emulation. If Roland manages to model brass, piano, voice, electric piano, etc what does this not have to do with modeling an analog...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!

I think it's based on the same technology as the V-Piano. If they can model the complex behavior of a piano, it would be possible to model correctly an analog synth. My guess it has an analog model engine, mixed with some other existing Roland technology, the ARX01 drums, ARx-02 electric pianos and ...

Re: New Fairlight is born

Scam of the century? Troll? Not at all. I just fail so see the charm of buying yesterdays technology for a high price. Who is seriously thinking to buy the re-issued Fairlight? Who are the intended customers? When it was originally released it gave a competitive advantage to the ones who could affo...

Re: New Fairlight is born

Scam of the century? OK, if they retain all the normal Fairlight sound/video editing stuff and add the Fairlight sampler on top, maybe it's worth it, but why would anyone buy the Fairlight remake just to be able to play Fairlight sounds? I saw a Akai S6000 with 256 MB RAM and USB card for sale for 2...
