Ensoniq Fizmo...$800 too much???

Hello all, looking to get an idea of the proper price that these things are going for nowadays. saw a post on here that mentioned somebody paying $250 for one...almost find that hard to believe considering the last couple ebay listing i've seen have been priced as high as $1000. Is $800 too much?

Re: I've tried every softsynth - the best one is...

iblit THANK YOU This synth is amazing. yeah haven't really tried poly iblit yet but the regular iblit is great for bass. as for reaktor being too complicated, I must note that I don't actually make any of my own synths in there yet but there are so many great synths in the user library that others ...

Re: I've tried every softsynth - the best one is...

I think arturia's jupiter 8v sounds amazing. especially version 2.0 which is in beta testing at the moment to registered users...other than that I agree about the imposcar, there are some great sounding synths in reaktor , there are a few free vst's out there that sound really good to me namely atla...

Re: Later E-mu sampler questions (E6400/EIII, ESI, etc.)

about the hard drives, I installed a laptop hard drive in my Yamaha A5000 a couple years ago following the advice from a few users on the yahoo group and it was a great idea. it is whisper quiet compared to the old standard ide or scsi drives and cost me about $10-15 for a 10gig drive in perfect con...

Re: The Yamaha Axk in the 2010s / Windows 7 compatibility

since getting the AIEB2 expansion board a couple of years ago, I find it faster to just sample my sounds in from my computer using the digital s/pdif. there is no loss to the sound...works like a charm.

Re: Getting rid of one or two samplers

yeah but why get rid of all that synthesis because you dont like the sampler? I use an ex5 of my friends when we work on projects in his studio and we have never used the sampler...the ex5 as a synth is capable of quite a vast array of sounds. I've been pretty amazed at the sounds I've gotten out of...

Re: Arturia Origin Keyboard - Wow!

I'm not sure about the origin but the jupiter 8v sounds amazing....and according to the sound on sound review which does a side by side test to the original, its pretty damn close.

Re: Getting rid of one or two samplers

I would not get rid of the ex-5 or sy-99 whose strong points are synthesis not sampling.

Re: Camel Audio Alchemy vs. Kawai K5000R

Try... VirSyn CUBE virsyn cube they push their resynthesis engine... but it's only a (good) plus. It's a full and easy addictive synth with morphing capabilities. Excellent. Download the demo and try it. K5000 is beautiful but a pain to program. haha I hear this about so many synths "its a pain to ...

Re: Hardware / Software / Combination

just one question, because you are involved on a lot of gigs. do you consider there's a significative difference on the audio quality on a gig, with using the iPod to regular cds or runing .wav tracks? there is a huge difference to my ears between mp3 and wav. mp3 sounds like garbage on a huge syst...
