Re: Dead serious stupid noob DJ-ing question...
Yeah, what annoys me most in modern dance music is overuse of breaks. Often, the breaks are the the longest part of a track :-/ And, when talking about "dance-pop" - it's really annoying, when you got breaks on choruses, when I feel that they should be the strongest parts of a song. That build-brea...

Re: cheap analog drum? modular?
Yes, that's been my experience as well. I'll probably go back and finish a modular drum setup eventually, but it's not an immediate priority.

Re: What Synth has the most Mojo?
Strangely enough the Juno2. Bit of an underdog synth, but it just fits in to everything, earning a place at the table.

Re: How do you work on your tracks?
Do you start with a beat / drum pattern / arpeggio? 55% of the time. Do you let a specific sound inspire you? 45% of the time Do you plan the track in your head or on paper first? Mixture, although sometimes the planned idea doesn't work out as well as expected. Do you make a point of including cert...

Re: Played a Model D, had an epiphany!
No one will deny that the Model D is a more flexible instrument, but bashing one over the other is pointless. Exploring the pros and cons of each is more productive, since they fill two completely different niches. Those who want to sound like Emerson and those who want to sound like Adonis.

Re: cheap analog drum? modular?
I tried going down the modular route for drums too, until it quickly became not very cost effective, need sequencer, drum mixer in addition to all the modules... MFB 522 is a far more practical solution. Great bang for the buck.

Tougher as most of the ones I disliked most went out the first time, Yanni, Mau5boi, Rudess.
Oh well, Don't like Oxygen that much, and SoB is worthless without the film for context.

No, I genuinely find his music ho-hum.Bitexion wrote:You're not just salty cos he makes 100mill a year and has ALL the modulars?
I'd be far more envious of someone like Richard D James anyway, also got a nice collection + £millions, and I certainly don't dislike him or his music.
