Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists

Got a request to make an update on this. MIDIQuest did not work for me at all (surprise, surprise), really glad for the tip from Ninja6485 to try the free Fizmo SoundDiver editor available at http://www.ugoaudio.com/fizmo/ because upon startup you can load a template for MR Rack! It worked immediate...

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists

i don't have the manual for the SD-1, always thought it was pretty much the same as the VFX-SD, could be wrong though. the MR series seems like a sleeper to me, lots of transwaves but very limited editing from the front panel (can't even change the waveform). also not even listed on VSE! thanks for ...

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists

i know, it's interesting that they reduced the number of transwaves in their synths before finally increasing it.

(the list is in the order that the synths were produced)

Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists

i adore my VFX-SD but have been using its transwaves too much, i need more! so i went through the manuals of all the transwave synths and compiled a list of just the transwaves from the wave lists. a Fizmo is out of my price range at this moment, so based on my research i just got an MR Rack. unfort...

Re: Synth Horror Stories

i also have a circuit bending story. when i was younger (and dumber) i used to enjoy modifying speak & spells and casios. one day i decided to circuit bend my Korg DW-8000... so i went prodding around in there with a wire while the thing was live. hmm, no interesting results yet... zap! a big spark ...

Re: Smallest standalone MIDI keyboards???

i've used the Reveal Musicstar too, found at thrift store for $10. not velocity sensitive though, and a bit of a toy.

now i prefer the Alesis Q25. http://www.alesis.com/q25

Re: Guess the synth (Blade Runner edition)

nice work, probably my favorite theme from my favorite soundtrack to my favorite movie!

didn't guess publicly but was curious to see the results (my guesses were pretty off). more proof that Ensoniqs are awesome synths!

Re: Pulse Emitter -- Crater Lake LP (Oberheim, Ensoniq)

thanks so much! cool you've been to Crater Lake as well, a very special place indeed.

would be nice to have the record for sale at the gift shop but 99.9% of people don't listen to vinyl anymore ;)

it seems low note priority is more common than i realized. just so used to last note priority, will take some getting used to.

Re: Oberheim OB-8 portamento and Unison mode behaviour

really great info, thanks to you both. i've just done a little research in the form of opening the manual--which i obviously should have done to begin with! sorry... and here's what it says: on portamento: "Note that the portamento on the OB-8 is polyphonic, so each voice will glide from note to not...

Oberheim OB-8 portamento and Unison mode behaviour

i've had my OB-8 for a few years now and i love it, it sounds incredible, i use it on everything. but it has a few quirks that i always assumed was just the way it was designed, but i thought i'd ask, see if anyone else with experience on this keyboard has noticed these traits. 1. Unison mode. when ...

Re: Sealed Deep Synthesis is down

i was also bummed when i realized his site was down, a really good resource, and his programming on the sound clips is masterful. too bad all the links on wayback machine don't work, i recently got a unit which he covered and that page is not working... wanted to see what he had to say about it!
