Re: School me on Sequencers

I got an MMT-8 but there is no step sequencer. What I really Love and can be had CHEAP is a Kawai Q-80. The EX has even more tracks and note holding capability. You can record Live, Step and just make little patterns and cut and paste if that's what you want. I got mine for $30 shipped and it's the ...

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?

I heard a little noise coming from the relay. It was in time with the LEDs.
It was frustrating that something was happening but I still wasn't getting my BOOOMMM...

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?

I don't have anything I can draw with on my computer. It's just a little netbook. I ended up not using the transistor. I ran the positive pulse (the tip) to the side of the button that is not connected to the power. Then I ran the sleeve (negative? ground?) to ground. That way I can still activate t...

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?

I have to take the outside (- ?) wire from the trigger out if I plug the 606 and the module into the same mixer...
I guess the mixer gives it ground?

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?

I think I got it. I just used a NPN transistor 2n3904 and fiddled with the connects till I got it. Positive to collector and -to emitter...

Still not sure how it works exactly but at least I'm not any stupider! Thanks!

TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?

I built a little analog drum module and it uses a momentary on pushbutton switch. I would like to automate it. I got a 5v 1A SPDT relay and hooked it up to the trigger on my TR-606 (the NO and the out). I can't seem to get ti to work. I know the DR- 110 outputs a 6v pos. trigger pulse and I assume t...

Re: Power Supply problem with TR-707

The 4MHz xtal arrived and still only the cartridge light comes on and no sound... Are they polarized? It doesn't look like it. I have and adjustable power source kit on the way from Adafruit. They say they're reliable and maybe I'll learn something too... But that won't ship for 10-14 days. What's n...

Re: Power Supply problem with TR-707

I hooked the scope up to the pins on the x but I'm not getting anything. I'm not positive that is the way to test it though. I had trouble finding where to attach the probes. I tried it with a probe on ground too and still the same. It's powered up but I can't get a reading on the xtal. I got a 4MHz...

Re: Power Supply problem with TR-707

Howdy. I tried an Xtal from my glitchy R8 but it still did the same thing. So I put the original back and now my R8 won't load up. Should I try a different one? I'm not positive that was 4MHz, but I think it was. Should I still go ahead an order another one? I spent the last 4 days searching for a l...

Re: Power Supply problem with TR-707

I have an oscilloscope. First thing 2mw I'll see if I can't find how to test the xtal on google. I'll check radioshack for it too. If they don't have one then I'll order one. I need to get some pots anyway. We're getting close. I can feel it!
You Rock!! Thanks a lot.

Re: Power Supply problem with TR-707

From D2 it reads -10v. Q2 reads -6v and Q1 reads - 12.5v. I guess that means the power is ok? It lights up again and the led's do a dance but it still won't reset or go into test mode. The LCD doesn't come on either... What's my next step?

Re: Power Supply problem with TR-707

Alright. finally got my 2.2 and 4.7 ohm fusing resistors. Just installed them. Same thing that happened before. Lights dance and it won't reset or go into test mode. This adapter is 700mA so it's a little closer. After D1 I get 13V(but this power supply read a little more than 16V) The +5 transistor...

Re: Power Supply problem with TR-707

Ok, I got another 12V DC PSU and this one is reading 16V too!!! I don't think it's my multimeter cuz my battery reads 1.5 and my old PSU still reads 12V. I made a 9VAC PSU out of an old 12VDC adapter and that is reading 14.5V, but it works fine. Maybe PSU's don't have to be as precise as I thought. ...
