Roland SH-3A - noise bleed in the audio path

On my SH-3A it's impossible to turn the noise generator completely off whenever the VCA is open. It's most prominent when set to white noise and routed outside the VCF, directly to the VCA. It's possible to "mask" it to some extent by selecting pink noise and routing the noise through the filter, bu...

Re: Yamaha Dx7 iifd (no sound)

Both keyboard cables were only halfway inserted.
Pushing them in properly did the trick, and my old E! equipped monster is yet again ready for battle

Thanks for your help!

Re: Yamaha Dx7 iifd (no sound)

There are three groups of keys that work. Two of the groups are in the bottom octave, the third group in the second highest octave. They are all groups of four consecutive keys...

Yes, will check the keyboard cables.

Re: Yamaha Dx7 iifd (no sound)

Thanks for the replies! Local was set to on all the time. To check if the synth sends MIDI out I set local to off, and configured the DX to receive MIDI from itself via a MIDI patchbay. What happened was that some keys started working..... around 1/3 of them. Then, it also started working with local...

Re: Yamaha Dx7 iifd (no sound)

Jumping in on an old thread as I have a similar problem... I have a DX7IIFD with E that I got for free a while back, because it makes no sound. Initially all patch names were garbled, but earlier tonight I replaced the battery and downloadad a random .syx file from Dave Benson' page. The patches loa...

Re: Polymoog 203A Restoration - You Got to Love Spaghetti!!

If we didn't view some things in life in this manner, ie. with longer term goals in mind, we'd live in a world free of many classic cars, restored Spitfires and vintage pianos... yes a labor of love but definitely worth doing. As an owner of both vintage synths and a vintage car I couldn't agree mo...

Re: Polymoog 203A Restoration - You Got to Love Spaghetti!!

Very fascinating thread, thank you for sharing. I borrowed a Polymoog from a friend in the mid 90s, and I've had a soft spot for it ever since. A couple of years later it broke down. I was very ambivalent to the prospect of owning it, and when my friend was selling I passed on it. It went to the tec...

I'm surprised at the dollar they actually do sell for though.
Going through sold items on ebay I found several sold for $1500+.

Re: MicroBrute - How awesome is it?

esp the SE with the stackable patch matrix. The patch matrix is the same on both synths, you can use stackables on both. It's just standard minijack. The difference is that the stackables are provided with the SE when you buy it. There's nothing preventing you from using stackables with the non-SE ...

Re: Anyone seen this company - GRP Synthesizer ?

There is some moudlar stuff FS on finn now and then. Quite a few eurorack modules atm.

How about the norsynth list that Terje Winther runs? I think there are a few AS users there.

Muffwiggler is the best place, but it requires some time spent to get to the 100 post limit.

finn.no? ;)

muffwiggler.com/forum is the place to sell modulars.
You need to have at least 100 posts to be able to sell stuff there though.
